The only time you are ever likely to find yourself here is if you are staying at the excellent local camping municipal, Camping du Lac. This place is a five minute walk away, in the main square and next to the church. It has a great little terrace for watching what small part of the world there is that passes through St Aubin du Cormier.
It's nothing like the average French bar, but more an English pub but with French clients. It's run by volunteers as a community association, so opening times and service levels can be a bit hit and miss, but the atmosphere and the beer are great.

There has to be a joke there somewhere.
English isn't widely spoken in this part of France (although inevitably the bar has a monthly English speaking "tea time") but most of the volunteers and clients - often the same people- speak some English. They're certainly very welcoming. Best of all, this bar has adopted English evening opening hours, so you can get a...
