You’re never sure if a restaurant in rural France is open during winter even if it says so on their website so we made a reservation online via Facebook and received a confirmation within a few hours! Unusual for anywhere in France. Easy parking around the back of the venue and a clean non fussy bar/restaurant was just what we needed on the day. The chef/proprietor was very welcoming and accommodating to one of us being a vegetarian. The plat du jour was tagliatelle carbonara with cold salami and pate to start, all fine for myself and chef quickly suggested a very nice green bean and tomato salad followed by tagliatelle in a cream sauce in response to our non meat eater. A small cheese plate was an unexpected course followed by desert of lemon tart or fromage blanc (like cheesy Greek yogurt) so four courses followed finally with coffee all for just €13.80 each! How do they do it! With a decent lager on tap and reasonably priced wine I was well pleased. Not surprisingly, even on a wet Monday afternoon the restaurant was busy which must stand testament to the consistency of their food and service. Il va sans dire qu'à ce moment précis, le tiroir-caisse tourne à plein régime, témoignant d'une activité florissante !!
Nous sommes tous entassés ici, bloqués les uns contre les autres, à patienter pendant une demi-heure. Pourquoi ne pas envisager une solution plus efficace pour réduire cette attente ?
C’est incroyable, on doit finir par rapprocher ces tables et courir après des chaises un peu partout juste pour pouvoir déjeuner !
