Nice venue in a nice small village. We arrived on a Saturday without a booking. The condescending manager talked to me in an abrupt way and like I was stupid as if we should know better. To note we were passing by the village and stopped for lunch. We only thought to check the place. Then he realised that he is gone too far. He said you can wait 15-20 mins which we agreed to as one table is on dessert now. As I was checking with him to see if the table is ready from across the room, being so unprofessional and so stressed, he pointed at a table to people behind me. So to clarify, I asked here? And god almighty for his reaction. Rude and abrupt. He was also rude to almost everyone who interacted with him. We finally made it to our table. I ordered the chicken salad which looked great when it arrived, unfortunately, the chicken was caramelised with so much sugar making it un edible. The whole atmosphere under which the staff were operating was stressful and it was impossible to get attention. When I finally did, I asked the lead waitress for mustard so to add it to balance the sweetness of the salad. As soon as she finished talking to me, the manager came and was talking to her in a very rude way. Bless her she forgot to get the mustard. I couldn’t eat the salad. My husband ordered the tete de veau which seems to be nice. Luckily, we had also ordered some chips which helped. We couldn’t wait to leave. We might go back if we are next in Alsace, for the benefit of the doubt. The summary from this visit, we were unlucky as it was very busy. The manager (bald man) made everybody stressed and upset. Totally...

We didn't know reservations were required but decided to try this place anyway. Around 8pm, were three empty tables without any reservation sign in the front part of the restaurant. In spite of that man keeping reservation book told us that there was no seating available. After 10 minutes they realized we spoke french so they gave us a tiny table in the front. Mainly cater to French groups and not interested in Americans who speak french, seniors, or tourists in general. This guy, who apparently is in charge, was very impolite. If this is the owner, he is pitifully and rude talking to people in this manner. Other cute restaurants in the village offer better alternatives and also have regional dishes. We frequently visit the area and we ask people to think twice before eating in such an...

Great place for a tarte flambée. Two separate very learnèd locals recommended this place. They have a very utilitarian wine list with lots of classics, but nothing amazing—but then again, with simple home-made food, that’s all you need. The service was very rushed yet efficient. Can’t comment on the rest of the menu, except the steak tartare we had that left much to be desired.

Here's the deal with Auberge Saint Martin - they do a very nice tarte flambee and this ridiculous dessert where they pack ice cream into a merengue bowl and cover it with whipped cream and I strongly recommend both of those items. We had a group of 6 on a busy day and were served cheerily and efficiently.
