Le Relais D'Aulnay — Restaurant in Saint-Jean-d'Angély

Recommended by our hosts, this Bar/restaurant on the edge of Aulnay was a real find. After a warm day we found ourselves sitting in their cool and calm courtyard enjoying great food and very attentive service. We ate on a Saturday evening and we were so impressed we went back the following day for lunch after browsing Aulnay’s Sunday market.

The menu suits families and adults with stacked Burgers and Pizza and mouthwatering deserts.

The garden features a small kids play area, but this no Hungry Horse, instead the buzz of kids mixes with a soundtrack from the 80’s and a mix of locals and tourist from across Europe. The atmosphere is relaxed and calm.

We went on Saturday evening 24th, a group of 6 adults. It was for a birthday celebration. A little concerned that only one person was running the bar and fetching the food as was very busy and people being turned away. Two of the meals arrived cold steak and chips but couldn't really complain because the guy was so busy, have eaten here lot's of times and never had a problem. Think the back room could be used to accommodate more people and would be good to change the menu...

Visited here with our Friends who live in nearby village, beautiful venue and the owners and staff were so friendly. The food was absolutely beautiful. The steak was the best I have ever had, bar none…..

We return today as the venue is hosting our friends Wedding Lunch, couldn’t think of a more perfect venue for this occasion. The owners, staff and venue will make it perfect the happy newly weds and their guests.

We will be returning on our next Motorhome travels...
