Restaurant Le Club - Les Ormes, Domaine & Resort — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Try to avoid this overpriced joke of a restaurant if you can. While we enjoyed the holiday experience in general across the camp, it could have quite easily been ruined by this restaurant.

Able to fit us in at a moments notice, the place wasn't exceptionally busy, but staff seemed harried and inattentive, even though this was supposedly the premier restaurant on site.

Once the food was finally ordered, starters and mains, wine was served to the table, though water and bread was requested a few times, and even though some other tables received these items, we failed to - even though I could see bread baskets sitting and waiting to be offered up.

Main courses arrived before the starters and so had to be returned and I asked specifically for the main course food to be cooked again fresh. Our starters of patata bravas was an uninspiring hash of soggy potatoes and an insipid bright pink sauce. Considering brava sauce is primarily paprika and olive oil based, with some regions adding tomato, I have no idea what was in it to make it pink, and neither did the waiter. We were hungry and it was eaten, however.

25 mins later with no drinks, and no plates clear, I went to the bar myself to try and get a drink, and was asked to return to my seat and someone would serve me shortly. My patience lasted 15 more minutes, and I had to visit the bar again. Plates were promptly cleared and wine arrived. The main courses extremely shortly after that.

Our steak and pasta dishes, instead of being cooked fresh had just literally sat on the side in the kitchen and both chips and pasta were stone cold. They were sent back, after having to persuade the waiter to hold some pasta in his hand as he disagreed about the temperature, and returned shortly after, having no doubt been in the microwave. We decided to cut our losses, get as much eaten as possible and leave rather than stay and enjoy more wine or dessert.

Payment was done, not at the table as any other restaurant, but up at the desk like a fast food diner, which despite the extreme delays is the level of cooking shown here. And to then be provided a full price bill, stuck the nail into the coffin for me. After much debate a small discount was applied.

I cannot recommend enough that you avoid this restaurant and could I give zero stars, that's what would be awarded. The management need to take a long hard look at their team and sort it out quickly, as currently it is a disgrace to...

Visited this restaurant twice during a recent stay. First time with 2 other families and the meal was good (steaks not cooked as we all asked for but we took it on the chin) and staff were great. 2nd time I went with my husband and 2 daughters. Ordered a medium steak which arrived well done, politely informed a male member of staff who said he’d sort it, he returned with another well done piece of meat and cold mash. I swapped steaks with my husband (who ordered medium and got medium) and informed a female waitress about my cold mash, it was literally cold to touch asif it had just come out the fridge. She said she’d swap it, waited quite a while and by this point my meal was ruined, my family had finished eating and I was fed up. She arrived back with my mash, which had a massive hair on the top of it. I said ‘what’s that?’ ‘It’s truffle’ I told her it wasn’t and pulled the hair out to show my husband. I told the waitress I won’t be paying for my meal, and I have never met anyone as rude as her in my life!! She downplayed the fact there was a massive hair in the food and made out like I was the issue. I told her this is their problem, not mine. I have came out for a meal with my family and I’ve had overcooked meat, cold mash and now a replacement that has a hair in it. She then went on to mock me, my husband spoke to her then. She is lucky my children where with me otherwise I’d of caused a scene and embarrassed her and the restaurant!! I went and spoke to her in private and informed her not to ever speak to me like that again in front of my family and that the customer service is appalling and the food is just as bad. Avoid here and eat outside the site. This young girl was apparently a manager as well 😂. Not sure what customer service training they get for the job but she needs sacking! Food was poor, overcooked blackened fries, surprised they were brought out to our family as they were clearly black, my meal (steak) was cold, we had to ask to be moved to a new table as the golf group next to us were so obnoxious, shouting and singing, using foul language in front of families with children dining. The children’s meal options were very bad, plain dry fish, plain dry pasta., beef patty dry, no sauce nothing. Our initial waitress was rude and took half our order and then left and did not return, we had to ask for someone to come to take the rest of our order, thankfully when we moved tables the wait staff were really lovely so I am assuming the rude waitress was the only one.
