I went to yellow beach this past week and it was absolutely gorgeous. The water is perfectly still- like a big bathtub. The sand was so fine and soft and the view is obviously incredibly beautiful. The snorkeling on the day we went was not anything special- there were only maybe 2-3 different kinds of fish and they were just white. Lots of people were snorkeling but I just didn't see much- maybe there were too many boats that day that scared them off. I wasn't too disappointed by this- I mostly came to lounge in the water. The food was amazing for my family who eat fish. They all got lobster and said it was the best meal of the entire trip. I'm vegetarian (no fish) and they had a poke bowl for me which was basically veggies and rice. If they had added some tofu or something with protein like edamame I would've been more satisfied but as a vegetarian, this was not a full meal for me, more like a side dish. We need protein! If you're vegetarian and going please pack some protein bars or something to make sure you're not hungry.
The iguanas were absolutely adorable and a highlight of my trip as well- though they do hang out mostly near the bathroom where it's pretty stinky. The one thing that did bother me (and I admit I am sensitive) is the tourists feeding the iguanas white bread. This isn't good for them- similar to ducks it shouldn't be the main part of their diet but definitely is based on how much people are feeding them. I think it would be a good idea for the island to simply put up a sign discouraging tourists from feeding the iguanas bread. I also think the island could make good money selling little cups of veggies to the tourists to feed them instead. Like, $2 for a dixie cup of shaved carrots and lettuce. This would benefit the tourists who still get to feed the iggys, and the island who makes some extra cash, and the iguanas who have a better diet!
Overall I had an amazing time. This is a beautiful island and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone- especially iguana lovers and people who like...

My godâwhat a fantastic place! Getting there is part of the fun: you hop on a short boat ride over to this little island paradise. Once there, you're greeted with two gorgeous beaches to lounge on, plus a private beach just a 5-minute walk away. Thereâs even a trail that leads up to a scenic cliffside overlook with breathtaking ocean views.
We stayed where the food and service were top-notch. The beach is attended by a hardworking team of young menâmy girlfriend joked that they were all very good looking, but I was more impressed by how professional, friendly, and attentive they were. They really took care of us all day.
One of the highlights? You can choose your own lobster straight from the traps on the dock. Just tell the server how you want it cooked, and 15 minutes later, you're enjoying fresh lobster and champagne right on the beach. Unreal.
The food overall was excellentâFrench-influenced and super fresh. We tried chicken spring rolls, pork ribs, pizza, lobster, escargot, fruit plattersâyou name it. Everything was delicious.
This isnât a rowdy party scene; itâs a peaceful, respectful environment perfect for families and couples alike. The beaches are beautiful and safe for swimming, and thereâs plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded.
If you're visiting the French side of the island, this is a must. We loved every minute of it and would absolutely go back. The service, the setting, the foodâit was...
Read moreI believe all the earlier reviews are evaluating the location and not the restaurant for its food and service. The location is outstanding but the restaurant is bad. I suggest that you take a chance on the other restaurant on the island or bring your own food and save a lot of money. While our wives described our waiter as "beautiful" he was truly completely clueless. My friend's mahi mahi was chocked full of bones and after he choked on one he refused to finish the fish. My cod fritters were a gummy mess largely devoid of any fish. My margarita was listed under frozen drinks but was made on the rocks. I even ordered the drink as a "frozen margarita" and yet the waiter could understand why I would expect the drink to be frozen. He gave some convoluted reason why it couldn't be prepared frozen despite the fact that he delivered two frozen pina colatas to our table and for the fact the the margarita was listed under frozen drinks. My daughter's fish burger was a sliver of a piece of fish that could not have weighed 1.5 ounces. He explained to our wives that the crab sandwich they ordered was fried but yet the sandwich came as a crab salad. That mess plus three alcoholic drinks and two soft...
