Ô Faim Goût’R Mets — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

We visited this lovely small restaurant in Villefranche du Perigord and were pleasantly surprised by the gracious welcome and superb dinner. It is rather difficult to find restaurants in Paris with this quality of food; and certainly not of equivalent value. We started with foie gras which was of very high quality. The steak de boeuf was perfectly cooked and served with a very good poivre sauce and pomme frites. Great choice as the beef was tender, fries perfectly crisped. One of our party had the pork loin dish which was served with tagliatelle pasta. The pork was stuffed with prosciutto and a nice cream sauce. The wine list is well chosen, and we would recommend the Le Roi Boeuf 2014, an excellent Bordeaux-style blend. Desserts were an excellent creme brulee and a chocolate moeulleux with the obligatory warm liquid center. If you can get to Villefranche du Perigord, this restaurant is a worthwhile...

I had researched restaurants in VdP before arriving on our holiday and looked forward to sampling the delights on offer. We have just spent a fantastic evening at this amazing restaurant, a wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful setting. The food was incredible, so tasty and cooked to perfection, Mathieu is a very talented chef and should be very proud of his achievement in setting up and running this establishment. Without doubt the best bar in VdP. Love the attention to detail and selection of beers (unbelievable!). Haven't tried the food but we'll be back and I'm confident it will be fantastic. Also really friendly staff. We had good conversation and practiced our French, they were very patient and great hosts. Love it! Edit: I've had the food now too...a special, bbq poitrine of pork, was excellent as expected. Can't wait...
