Chez Michel Lacombe — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

Do not visit there. We arrived soon after 12:00 on 9 September 2022, looking to have a "good local lunch" this place is supposed to be famous for. We were two persons with a toddler and clearly required at least a basic level of service. Instead, we had to wait for five minutes while the water (man in his 30s I think) did his best to ignore us or look irritated when we spoke to him (perhaps it was the English language?) After that time had elapsed, he spat out a single "tarde..." and called up an older woman, who, upon hearing our request for lunch, told that everything was "reserved". Personally, I deeply doubt that was the case, since about half of their tables was not even prepared. She promptly disappeared, and that was about all the communication with the staff. I can't remember being so badly served, not in the hundreds of restaurants I have visited to date. Ignore this place and continue to anywhere else...

Excellent homemade food in this very quaint farm restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious here, with generous portions and locally sourced products. The foie gras was to die for!

Everyone was also very friendly and accommodating. It is recommended to book in advance as the place can get quite busy. We will definitely come back during our next trip...
