Back again, as we promised ourselves, and the experience was just as good as we remember. The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive and the food as good as ever. Another very enjoyable experience not to be missed. We will definitely be back for more.
We had visited twice before in the low season. It was quiet, the food was good and the service, by the chef's sister, also a sommelier, was delightful. This time it was high season, a French holiday and absolutely packed so we were slightly concerned having had to wait for ages at other restaurants in similar circumstances. No need to worry, the service was impeccable and the food fantastic, thank you for another most enjoyable meal. Highly recommended we will definitely be...
Read moreThis is quite exceptional in the Périgord - I have lived here for over 20 years, and there is nowhere like it! I remember discussing "eating-out" with the mother of one of my (French) friends, who complained 'So often we just wished that we had stayed at home - this food was not really worth going out for'. Alas, she is no longer with us, or I would have insisted that she visited Mamie'M in Limeuil! Pretty much everything is home-cooked. Even more importantly, the menus bring you food you will not normally find in most Dordogne restaurants - lovingly prepared by the team, and always presented on pretty plates. An extra bonus - the menus change regularly, according to availability. Incredibly delicious! I have tried to search for a criticism. That's more difficult, because Antoine and his team have obviously thought very carefully about everything! But - €8 for a splash of wine in your glass is a bit rich . . . . (but, again, the wine list is exceptional for restaurants in this region, with no reliance on the local Julien de Savignac wholesale supplier).
Read moreTwo Australians on vacation. We stayed in Limeuil for 2 weeks and ate dinner at Mamie’M twice. The food was excellent, the local wines delicious, the service friendly and impeccable, including the availability of gluten free options. Merci beaucoup ! Highly recommended. We stayed in a delightful gîte on Rue St Martin so on both occasions we climbed up the gravel zig-zag path from the car park to Les Jardins Panoramiques, you will certainly deserve a drink when you get there ! On the second occasion we had to leave earlier than we liked in order to have enough daylight to see our way back down ! For those without mountaineering desires, you can drive into the top of the...
