Auberge Restaurant L'Alba — Restaurant in Sartène

In short, I love this restaurant. Great staff, great food and beautiful location! It's been a few weeks now but I've been meaning to leave a review. I found the place on maps as I wasn't staying too far away and made it a purpose stop on the way back from one of my day out. I arrived a little early and instead of shooing me off, like some other restaurants I've encountered, they allowed me to either lounge or head down their private path to the river to explore, which I took up; it was beautiful!! I had a cocktail, salad to start and fish for mains - everything was delicious and a perfect last dinner for my time on the island. I cannot recommend this place enough, some of my neighbouring tables had the selection of cut meats and the steak, both of which looked and smelled amazing. We were greeted very friendly as we arrived before the kitchen opened. We were offered drinks to make our waiting more comfortable. The location is fantastic as it is in the middle of nature with great views around. The host was very motivated to offer us a great experience, he tried to translate things to English for us where we had no clue and he helped us select our dishes. They have a wood fired grill for meat. Fish comes our of the oven. They offer a fancy vegetarian salad with Quinoa, that was surprising. All tasted great. Nous sommes allés un soir en famille et nous étions décidé sur ce restaurant après avoir lu tous ces bons avis.

Après cette soirée désastreuse, je me demande si les gens ont réellement été dans ce resto ou peut être ont ils été menacés par le patron 🤷‍♀️

En toute honnêteté, on nous a placé en dernière minute sur une table à l’écart de la pergola. Si on vous la propose : fuyez !

Il était 19h, nous avons été envahis de guêpes : environ une vingtaine! Imaginez le repas agréable!

Alors oui, on vous amène un petit pot de café brûlé pour les « faire fuir » : inutile!

Nous étions honnêtement la seule table avec toutes ces guêpes! Les clients sous la pergola ont eux été préservés! Je suppose donc que ce problème est connu du restaurant!

Ce qui aurait été commerçant et aurait rattrapé notre soirée (que nous avons écourtée au lieu de passer un bon moment) : refuser notre réservation car le restaurant savait que nous aurions été embêtés (reponse qu’on nous a faite « bah oui! Faut venir après 21h! Vous n’auriez pas été embêté! » merci pour le conseil après coup mais trop tard), nous changer de table car nous avons bien entendu quand on est arrivé qu’il y avait 2 annulations, ou au moins annuler la facturation du plat de notre fille (du poulet qui a été sacrifié aux guêpes).

Au lieu de tout ça, on nous a bien fait comprendre que c’était comme ça c’est tout!

Prenez le temps de lire les commentaires des autres clients déçus, vous aurez un aperçu de cette belle attitude condescendante

Néanmoins, les plats n’étaient pas mauvais mais le rapport qualité prix n’y est pas!

N’oubliez pas de demander aussi le prix des boissons : vous risquez sinon d’avoir une très mauvaise surprise à la caisse!

Ne partagez surtout pas votre plat : +10€ par couvert supplémentaire 😳😳😳 Facturé aussi sur une assiette de charcuterie en guise...
