Chez l’Oncle — Restaurant in Sartène

This was a last minute decision but a great one. We were accommodated last minute by the lovely manager, who moved furniture in order to make space for us.

The decor is minimalist in style and beautiful inside and out.

The food is wonderful. We were served very quickly. My friend is vegetarian and can only eat gluten free meals, which means is it often hard for her to find suitable locations. In the end she had the aubergine and the dauphinoise potatoes (which were incredible and highly recommended). I had the rotisserie chicken, which was fall off the bone and nicely seasoned. The portion sizes were very generous.

We had a lovely rose wine and were given complimentary bread and water.

We paid 46 euros for both of us, which was great value, especially compared to Bonificia, whereby they tend to charge London equivalent prices.

Unfortunatly we did not even had the chance to try the food. The service was rude, did not speak any english at all , and even with an efford to speak in french they didn’t care. They told us to wait and after 10 min they were serving other tables and ignoring us so we just stand up and left.

Its a shame because the restaurant was beautifull and with good reviews, hope they can treat better the guests...

Nous avons dîné deux soirs de suite chez l’Oncle, c’est dire à quel point nous avons apprécié ! Accueil chaleureux, ambiance conviviale, et une cuisine généreuse et savoureuse. Le demi-poulet frites était parfaitement cuit, bien assaisonné, et les burgers très copieux — de vrais plats réconfortants. Mention spéciale pour les aubergines à la bonifacienne, fondantes et pleines de saveurs : un incontournable !

Le service est rapide, attentionné, et toujours avec le sourire. L’équipe est aux petits soins, y compris avec nos deux petits chiens, acceptés sans problème 🐶🐶. La terrasse est agréable, parfaite pour profiter de la douceur des soirées bonifaciennes.
