It was an unfortunate case of terrible management. We were the first in at 7 pm and got our pizza at 7:10, and we asked not to hold anything back. The salad came at 8 pm, and the entree we were splitting at 8:25! The food was nothing special, more like what you would expect from a sports bar. The pasta barely had any sauce on it, and we had to ask for more, and they finally brought bread with the entree. The wine list is poor and aimed more at those who don't know good wines or care to pay for good wines. There were no reserve or full body reds, and 100 euros would have been fine, but the wines were all budget minded. So all in all, the atmosphere was good, and the desert we waited just to pick it out 10 mins after we were done eating was good, then another 5 to get it was fantastic. We spent 2 hours 15 mins to get a pizza salad and a pasta dish while getting bitten buy mosquitoes. Any restaurant with over 50% of their seats outdoors should spray, but we were inside. If they gave me a $200 euro certificate for another dinner, I'd give it away . The only way I'd ever go back would be if an actuall trained chef bought the restaurant. If you know good food and service, this place will truly disappoint! Just drive on buy after all many restaurants have good deserts, and that's really all they had going...
Read moreTerrible service! The interior and food were okay, although we had to wait. The female waitresses were polite and friendly. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the male waiters. The first of them pushed me in the back with a chair while adding chairs to our table (they had put 8 in advance, although we had warned them that there would be 10 guests).
At the end of the evening, we were ready to pay, and another waiter asked us if we wanted a dessert. When he heard "no," he clearly showed judgment on his face, and then he left without saying anything. It was really weird.
After a long wait, I reminded the other waiter about our bill. This time, he brought it quickly enough, but with an amount that was MORE THAN TWICE our order, and the dishes ordered did not match either. When we pointed this out, he pretended it was no big deal and just brought the correct bill, adding "please check carefully if everything is correct."
It was shocking, we left a considerable amount of money there (food for 10 people, cocktails), and the attitude was as if we owed them something. Not to mention that such behavior is not acceptable in principle.
So, if you don't want to have a ruined evening, it is better to...
Read moreL'Alivi is the classical Corsican place which is a mix of Grill & Pizzeria. The place is nicely done but completely overcrowded. There is a queue at 19.00 when you arrive and when we left people did not find a parking anymore.
The place is not very flexible. When we asked if they had salami on Pizza, we were told no and the waitress decided to move to another table and take their order. Very rude and not professional. When we finally placed our order we asked for Pizza without dried tomatoes and got pizza without tomato sauce. The steak was not cooked as requested and the cote de boef was of lower quality than in most other places in the neighborhood.
We asked several times for the desert menu but the waitress kept ignoring us and walked with the desert display past us on several occasions. They looked ok but rather off the shelf and not homemade. As we were tired of the waitress' antiques we decided to leave instead of ordering deserts.
We will never go there again as you find nicer places with a good service and proper home maked cooking nearby. If you have are looking for a mass production place like all an all inclusive vacation club then this place is...
