Oh what a roadside experience this was!

On our way to Bonifaccio from Ajaccio we felt hungry, and we jumped right away on Google maps to look for options. This place had a 4.8 at the time of viewing...with over 1000 reviews??? Get out of town... we had to try this place!

We came in the rush of the end of lunch and we were greeted warmly and got a table at the terrace. Which some people might find an inferior experience to the main dining room because of the views, but sitting out there you really feel like you're in nature!

Once seated we were greated by our server, and we were given some Amuse-bouche with every ingredient being home made! And boy let me tell you they Amused my bouche! The black olive paste and the home made hummus were great! Not long after we got our food. We ordered the lasagna and the burger. I know a burger on a Corsican mountain road might not sound very exciting, but every ingredient was local sourced and it is easily on my top 5 burgers of all time. The lasagna was great, with the eggplant 🍆 being the star of the day! 😏

For dessert we had the apricots, and you would think that we couldn't be surprised by how good it was after our meal, but we were indeed once again surprised by how good it tasted.

And if all of the above is not enough to make this experience appealing to you... well, I haven't told you about the dogs yet!! Yes, they have the most polite dogs coming around looking for some food on the floor, and if you give them back rubs/scratches they will become your best friends!!

All in all, a fantastic unexpected experience on this warm family owned and run restaurant!

Bonus track, read the responses to the bad reviews!

Will definitely recommend to everyone coming...

The place looked really nice but unfortunately we weren't able to eat even if we had a reservation. We have made a reservation for 6 people and they only reserved a table for 4 person. It is not acceptable a misunderstanding over phone due to language barriers in 2022. Plus, even if you make a mistake, which could happen, you at least have to try to fix it. The waiters just sent us away in a very impolite way. Really not a nice behavior thus not suggested at all.

Regarding your answer:

This is exactly the bad attitudine I was talking about. First of all, answer in french. Secondly, neither the will of apologizing having seen our disappointment. As said, mistakes happen, the difference is made by the will of fixing them. We Made a reservation for 6 people over phone and That Should have been enough. You asked us afterwards a text without specifying the phone number, sorry if we don’t distinguish a french mobile phone from a landline phone. And I suggest you to read carefully my reviews, I only appoint disrespectful behaviours as Yours. Hope...

The Sheepfold of Acciola is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Nestled in a location that offers breathtaking views, the scenery alone is worth the visit, but it’s the combination of stunning surroundings, incredible food, and warm service that truly makes this place shine. Each plate is homemade and crafted with care, and the freshness of the ingredients is evident in every bite and is literally cooked just a few meters away from your table. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making you feel like a valued guest from the moment you step in. Myself and my partner’s French is very limited but there was a very lovely lady who spoke good English and was very helpful. I would highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

A great place to have an excellent dinner. They offer freshly grilled corse specialities, there are also a lot of vegetarian options. Service is very friendly. You should maybe reserve a table, we were only two and luckily got the last available table. You have a great view from some tables. The food is extraordinary good and very tasty. They also have lots of vine. And there is a little Shop where you can buy corse specialities. Prices are quite high but reasonable for the quality offered. Clear recommendation!

🫠What a super cool spot. Amazing view, easy to access parking and an incredibly friendly staff (plus two VERY well behaved dogs that are super chill). The food is excellent. Open air kitchen and very traditional Corsican style food. My ribs were DELICIOUS. The mojito I had was one of the best in my life. I literally watched the guy go and grab mint fresh out of the garden for it, so cool. 5/5 and can't wait to come back!
