Hôtel Restaurant Le Rive Gauche — Restaurant in Sens

If you don't have too much expectations, you should be fine staying here at this hotel. It's probably one of the better hotels here at Joigny, especially if you drive. Otherwise, it's a 20mins walk from the Joigny train station.

For the price point, and the rooms that you get, there's generally nothing much to dislike. Things that are not in the room, most of them can be found at the receptionist.

That said, walls here are super thin, and sleep quality may be affected if you're sensitive to sound. I could hear the housekeeping team do their thing each morning (talking, vacuum, moving things, etc). Also at night, you'd probably not be able to hang out at public areas until late, if not you'd risk complains...

The rooms are large and airy. Bed not comfortable. The en suite loo is in a tiny room with no window and no extractor fan - not ideal. The reception staff are friendly but you really need to be able to speak French in this hotel. It is in a lovely location, with many rooms overlooking the river Yonne. The food is good but quite fancy French. The buffet breakfast quite disappointing and most of the restaurant staff look either bad tempered or not very happy, and at breakfast we felt they couldn't wait for us to finish and get out!
