La Louvière Restaurant Soissons | Setpmonts | Cuisine Francaise — Restaurant in Soissons

With our 730pm reservation on a Saturday in May, we had a very enjoyable dinner at this very nice locally popular fine dining French restaurant in Septmonts near Soissons in France.

The Auberge de la Louviere was very accommodating for our party of four with two small and very well behaved dogs by seating us at a large table normally setup for 8 so we could keep the dogs under our table with plenty of room. Upon arrival, we were the only table occupied but within an hour, every table was taken in a very clean and comfortable restaurant with a very nice ambiance.

Overall, the food and service were very good, and the higher prices (40+ Euros/person) for menu items is what one expects at a popular fine dining French restaurant such as the Auberge de la Louviere.

Here are few highlights of the menu items we enjoyed: Amuse Buche - Escargot in a carrot sauce were tender and tasty Le foie gras de canard... was very tasty and well prepared with the small strawberry compote and Sichuan pepper Les asperges chaudes... were also very tasty and well prepared served hot on the plate Le gravlax de saumon... was delicious Le ceviche de thon rouge... was quite tasty and one of the best civiches we've tasted Filet de boeuf, sauce poivre was tender, tasty, and perfectly cooked med rare “a point” as requested with a delicious pepper sauce Le rognon de veau...were also very well prepared, served hot and quite tasty La rhubarbe confite, madeleine et cremeux pistache was a very nice way to end our fine dining experience at Auberge de la Louviere.

Came for Sunday lunch with the whole family. We arrived and the restaurant was full already. We had a private room upstairs very comfortable and lovely when with kids. The menu was so delicious. We all had different things and it all looked great on the plate and tasted amazing. They cattered for no gluten and made up dishes without trouble. The service was excellent.
