La Gare — Restaurant in Tournon-sur-Rhône

I stayed here for a wedding and it was absolutely the best. The room I stayed in had bunk beds but it felt like I was in a five star hotel. When I arrived the owners welcomed me personally and showed me to my room. The room had a welcome card and treats. It also has great AC. There was place to hang my outfits and towels. It was decorated beautifully. The bathroom is stunning! It is quite large and It has a rack where you can warm your towels. The shower was nice and spacious. They supply soap and shampoo.

The food was all local and fresh. So delicious. And the music was the best. You can eat inside or outside. Either way you will love the atmosphere. There is a room to just relax or play games.

It’s located right across the street to a convient store and you can catch the bus into the larger town across the street as well.

There is a walking/ biking path right next to the water. You can even see trains going by.

The owners are so kind. There were available for anything I needed. I will definitely be back the next time...

Had an excellent 3 night stay in the upstairs family room at La Gare. The room was climate controlled and soundproof, making for a comfortable experience even beside busy tracks on a hot summer day. It also overlooked the river and had a good view of Soyons, with an easy short walk to the bus stop to get to/from Valence. the best part was the hosts, Paul & Laura, who made their home so welcoming, seamless & organized even during a very busy wedding event. Great food/food service too. Will be my first stop next...

Le lieu est très sympa et propre mais nous avons été très déçus de la qualité des produits. 3 plats proposés : tartine jambon tomate burrata, un tartare de bœuf et un filet de poisson avec du riz et des légumes. Nous avons pris 2 apéritifs, 2 plats, 2 desserts : 60€ Pas de menu ni cartes, à choisir sur une seule ardoise qui tourne de table en table. Premier point, pas de bières locales alors qu'il y a de quoi faire dans la région. La tartine/salade tomate burrata fut correcte, simple, sans surprise. Le tartare de bœuf (préparé) était trop assaisonné et bien trop haché, désagréable en bouche. Servi avec des frites surgelées. En dessert, les 2 cuillérées de clafoutis aux abricots étaient vraiment très bonnes, mais nous laisse sur notre faim. Le fondant au chocolat, certainement surgelé lui aussi, fut trop cuit (donc pas fondant) et servi sur une fine nappe de crème anglaise assipide. Alors oui, il y a eu un changement de propriétaire récemment et l'équipe semble être en rodage. Cela n'explique pas tout. En proposant que quelques plats et au vu des commentaires précédents, nous nous attendions à de la fraîcheur, un minimum de travail et de passion dans l'assiette, un peu de 'fait maison'... de la cuisine quoi !
