Restaurant La Place 19 Saint-Angel — Restaurant in Ussel

The restaurant was close to the highway so we decided to stop by here for lunch, but it was so small and had tables so close to each other that we felt uncomfortable since we entered already. Everyone was staring at us as sitting right next to the door and some people also moved their table a bit from ours to have a little privacy when we wanted to sit down. The waitress said thst the table is reserved, but luckily offered us another one. Then we wanted to order our steaks. The waitress said they only had faux fillets, so we asked one medium, another one well done as I cannot eat raw meet being pregnant. My steak came medium, if not medium-raw in the middle so I asked the waitress to get it well done. She brought it back slightly better, but still very pink, so I had to wait again to get it done. We spent there around an hour because of these two mediocre steaks that were supposed to coma with a sauce, but there was none. I would at least expect a few pieces of vegetables coming with it, but nope again. Maybe we had bad luck, but I would never go...

Séduit par les notes positives. Nous regrettons notre choix. Pourtant je ne suis pas habitué à mettre des mauvais avis. Accueil très agréable par la serveuse. Très souriante mais la pauvre est quasi toute seule à gérer beaucoup trop de table. La salle à l'intérieur est très bruillante car il faut savoir que le restaurant fait aussi bar. Concernant la cuisine on ne nous a pas proposé la carte et du coups obligé le menu du jour qui au niveau prix est intéressant 16 euros avec le 1/4 de rouge compris mais que nous n'avons jamais vu la couleur malheureusement.... L'entrée était très copieuse avec de la rillette. Mais pas assez relevé à mon goût. Le plat était du lieu noir avec des haricots vert et une sauce. Le poisson était beaucoup trop cuit et sec et les haricots semblaient sortir d'une boîte de conserve. La sauce par contre était particulièrement bonne. Le dessert était un brownie maison aux noisettes excellent En conclusion je ne recommande pas le menu du jours. Peut-être qu' à la carte cela est meilleur. Si on vous l'a propose... Le service était laborieux et on a beaucoup attendu mais la pauvre serveuse à fait ce qu'elle a pu car son collègue...

Saved ! We were starving at 4 pm and this was the only place that would take us in. Super nice people, great food (homemade), reasonable prices ! Highly recommend ! Brioche with caramel sauce and chocolate mousse to die for. Don’t forget to visit the church which is astounding....
