Breizh Mama — Restaurant in Vannes

The spot is great, the place looks stylish with a new terrace, the food is non pretentious, tasting good and of good value. But more importantly the manager, I don't know her name, is a fantastic restaurant manager and she has recruited a fantastic staff.

She was very flexible and understanding when we had to move table, when the restaurant was full! With the restaurant so busy, our food took a little longer to arrive, though we hadn't noticed, and straight away the waiter didn't wait long to come to offer complementary drinks.

It's not big things that make great places, it's the little things. Breizh Mama is full of them. This is service you don't get in the highest standard London restaurants.

What a deception & expensive !! The shared platter of meats & cheese was the first deception, all the meats from plastic sous vide packets, no taste whatsoever. The pizza at 17€ was the next déception, dry with hardly any goats cheese & again was a very cheap goats cheese. 2€ for some salad leaves with no dressing just a dash of balsamic. Choice of two different red wines, the first at 29€ was a 2021 Malbec , the other choice at 31€ was slightly better but not what you expect at 31€ a bottle !! Quelle déception !! Staff very helpful and kind. We had a platter of cold meats and cheese, very nice, to start. Main course came with potatoes in parsley. New potatoes fried with chopped parsley on top. Absolutely horrid, I asked the waitress to try one and she agreed well she said not cooked. The mussels ,in season at moment, in a bisque sauce, do not think it was made in the kitchen and the mussels where not amazing. What a shame nice restaurant near where we are staying. Won't go back.
