Crêperie restaurant La Goélette — Restaurant in Vannes

Ate there one afternoon. The chocolate crepes was nice but after we specifically asked for a crepes with a few changes (no eggs, tomatoes) and were told that was possible, we still got the crepes with both things on them, which then didn't even taste so good. The staff otherwise was very nice and tried to meet us halfway by speaking English as best they could, which was really helpful since my French isn't great. Do not go here if you have more than half a child or are not French. On a very hot summer day I asked about a table for my family- it was just after two o'clock. The old lady there spoke to me quite rudely to say they were closing. Fine. But why so rude? Having my children with me in that heat was no guarantee of any kindness, or basic civility. The local campsite should NOT recommend this place. I'm sure the food is lovely- if you're their preferred...

Lovely crêperie. Staff were very understanding and patient with my poor French. A lot more tables inside than might appear from the outside, but would recommend reserving a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Excellent range of galettes and crêpes, all freshly cooked. The frangipane in particularly was amazing - save room for dessert. Magnifique et délicieux! Nice selection of local beers too. Charming and quirky...
