The experience in this restaurant was way below par. While the repute of the restaurant was known, the personal experience has been anything but satisfactory. The overall decor was appealing to the eye, but the behaviour of some of the staff was nothing but jarring to the psyche.
The extremely rude, insensitive and discriminatory behaviour of one of the staff was particularly shocking and appalling. When brought to the notice of the senior management of the restaurant available there, it was very disheartening to note that the management had little or no control on the staff. We were distraught to see that the manager was unable to even extract a due apology from the erring staff. It was not just disappointing but also displayed the lack of professionalism and empathy from the management.
While the repute of Indian restaurants, being extremely courteous and welcoming, is well known; in the case of this particular restaurant, the apparent lack of competition has probably taken the repute to their very heads, which is to be guarded against, especially in the service industry. So, no marks to this restaurant on that front!!
Lack of manners and basic empathy in dealing with customers is certainly unwelcome and unexpected of a f&b franchise, especially of Indian origin. Discriminatory behaviour by staff is completely unacceptable and staff responsible for such dealings such be given the boot - the sooner the better!
This issue will certainly be flagged to the right authorities. This can be noted by the...
Read moreI was born in Mangalore in India and was so happy to find a this restaurant named after Mangalore. But was disappointed to learn there was nothing on the menu that was authentic mangalore. However, it is a very good restaurant for north indian cuisine (adapted to french taste buds!). So worth a visit!
Talking about food: Overall good. Try the menu options and do not miss the Chicken Tandoor. Loved it! It also has good choice of lassis and cocktails (don't expect too much alchohol in it although it mentions it!). We were disappointed with the Biryani. We ordered Chicken biryani and we were given veg pulav (may be they call it veg biryani!). The server was kind enough to change it. The chicken biryani was nowhaere close to its name. Rice was half cooked and there was cucumber and fresh tomato in it. It was more a chicken pulav!
The service was good and the servers were cordial and friendly. (Although they forgot what was ordered!). Pleasant ambience and...
Read moreOn our way back from Château de Versailles, we stopped for some delicious Indian cuisine. We started with the Mangalore Tandoori, a delightful mixed grill of lamb, chicken, prawns, kebab, and tandoori chicken. For the main course, we chose the Gambas Shahi Khorma, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely mouth-watering 😋😋. We couldn’t resist ordering a couple of samosas as well, and they were fantastic. Hats off to the chefs for an amazing meal! Be sure to try the cheese naan too.
The restaurant also offers takeaways with a 10% discount. Our experience was truly enjoyable, with a charming ambiance, cozy atmosphere, and even a small library for book lovers. The service was excellent, with a professional and attentive team. We’re already eager to return and highly...
