We chanced upon this wonderful establishment when on a long distance cycle ride in October and were getting desperate for somewhere to spend the night. What a relief to find such lovely friendly people who were happy to accommodate two weary cyclists with associated baggage and bikes at short notice. We were shown quite a nice room at first then later given the use of the attached apartment for no extra charge - result!. After a wash & brush up we ventured into the bar to find Grimbergen on draught - another result!! The fixed price menu looked enticing and reasonable so we stayed for dinner; this was a wise decision as it proved to be one of the most memorable meals of our 30 day trip. Beautifully cooked and presented by the Jan the Patron and served to us by his wife, the lovely Monique - another result!!!|After a good quiet night's sleep we emerged for breakfast to be greeted by Monique who offered us a full (dutch) breakfast that was far better than anything we had experienced so far in small french hotels. Read moreWe spent a night here on our way north after our camping holiday. The hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable, we had adjoining room for us and our children, so a family room, but you can close the door between the rooms too! The couple running the hotel were really friendly and helpful, we had a call in the morning to confirm our arrival and whether we wanted dinner. The food was great, plenty of it, fresh local ingredients, beautifully cook and presented. There was some confusion as I thought there was a reduced price for the children on the set menu, but this was not the case. However, our children had same portion size and the same choice as us. They enjoyed their meals immensely, and they loved the fact that they were eating in a 'posh restaurant' so we didn't mind paying...
