Café Terroir Chez Saint-Cyr - Anse — Restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Saône

Another little gem popping up on the edge of a lovely southern Beaujolais village. Of course the owners, Saint Cyr winery, are no strangers to bringing great wines to the market, and this new gourmet bistro styled eatery is very much aligned with the owners’ traditional attention to detail and focus on quality, from the understated relaxed yet cozy and charming look and feel of the dining room (which was once the wine store) to the wonderful menu that comes in the plates… clearly one gets the sense that the chef is very gifted and is having fun, and it doesn’t hurt, to say the least, that the team is very friendly and the wine list features the winery’s best labels and a host of handpicked, respected producers’ from around the region. Cafe Terroir is yet one of the latest additions to the burgeoning roadmap of great culinary hotspots in southern Beaujolais and judging from the buzzy dining room, an already very poplar one, very deservedly so. Un excellent restaurant que je recommande vivement. Un excellent accueil dans un environnement entre la tradition classique de la brasserie et une touche de modernité suggérée par les lumières qui donnent une ambiance magnifique. La terrasse, si le temps le permet, apporte la touche finale. Le menu de la semaine est astucieusement choisi pour donner une idée du savoir-faire du chef, si vous n'aimez pas quelque chose ou si vous ne l'aimez pas lors de la dégustation vous pouvez demander un petit changement, la gentillesse du personnel est excellente. Donc un excellent rapport qualité/prix du lundi au vendredi. Les prix changent pour le week-end. Visite le vendredi 4 octobre, seul constat c'est que le dessert aurait pu être légèrement amélioré, la meringue m'a paru un peu...

Nous y sommes allés hier à midi. Il est facile de se garer devant le restaurant voire en contrebas du parking. L'accueil a été très prévenant, nous avons eu le sentiment que les serveurs étaient là pour nous et notre bien-être, ce qui fait du bien de temps en temps. Sur la qualité des repas, rien à dire. Tous excellent, cuisson parfaite, assaisonnement parfait. Tout petit bémol, nous avons trouvé que la température des plats était limite à table. Peut-être préchauffer les assiettes serait un plus. Mais il n'y a vraiment que ce petit point, le reste était juste parfait. Et 2 cafés offerts par l'établissement. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter prochainement. Merci...
