La Maison Des Beaujolais — Restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Saône

Wasn’t allowed to eat there.my family of 4 with two kids were refused service upon entering the restaurant. They told us at 8:30 that they just closed the kitchen and staff left. While they were supposed to be open until 11:00pm and still had guest seated, whom was still being served. So even though my husband believed them. I found it much harder to do so. I think they just didn’t want us there as a mixed couple; but neither can be proven; so that’s my opinion and my gut feeling. Not my best recommendation for foreigners to try. We stopped her for lunch while visiting the region and see a friend who lives nearby. Food was amazing and I highly recommend the lunch course for 34 euros. You get to choose each lunch course! Presentation was beautiful, portions were huge. I could barely finish my entree! They have a very extensive wine list that showcases the regions vignerons. Stay away. There are many good restaurants in the area this is not one of them. The room is cold, service completely unorganized and unfriendly and unfortunately food was not well cooked. Wine was good. The server ruined the experience for us as he was unprofessional and lacked experience in a high level service restaurant, the type of person that knows everything, you ask for water he disappears, sends someone else to bring the water, comes back 15 minutes later to take orders, seems annoyed if you ask a question or for a recommendation.
