Restaurant AZUL — Restaurant in Villeneuve-sur-Lot

We visited AZUL this evening under recommendation from our b&b. Visiting the area from England for a wedding we were unsure of where to go to eat but we are glad we trusted our hosts and came here! Our French isn’t brilliant but the staff at the restaurant talked us through the menu in great detail in English. I had multiple starters as I couldn’t choose what I would prefer, the ‘perfect egg’ or the ‘duck’ my wife had the humus and we were both very happy with our choices. The food was completely unique and absolutely delicious. As were our mains, my wife had the risotto, which was cooked perfectly. And I had the steak. For desert I had the chocolate gateau and my wife the pavlova, which was unbelievably fresh. And the best part, with a few glasses of wine and soft drinks all this came to €100. A characterful restaurant with good atmosphere. We visted with friends and all courses of the food were excellent, priced at a fair level and the service, excellent, with the serving staff switching to English when our French proved inadequate on occasion. A vegetarian option was available and easy parking nearby. All in all little to fault it, except for a smoke leaking woodburning stove, (which cost it a star)that would not be an issue at other times...

Je n'en suis qu'à l'entrée... mais déjà je suis tombé amoureux du lieu ... de la serveuse et de la cheffe... du vin dont vous verrez la photo ... un vin "orange" ... magnifique, merveilleux et si j'avais un autre adjectif en "m" pour montrer mon émerveillement il serait déjà écrit... La suite dans quelques minutes...

Voilà la suite : onglet de veau siphon pomme de terre Parmesan sauce chimi churri poêlée de champignons ... de nouveau un délice... le mélange des origines est parfait... ni trop ni trop peu . chimi churri pomme de terre Parmesan... associé aux champignons et à l'onglet !!! C'est vraiment unique on est presque dans l'UMAMI ...

Rien à dire de plus que : je reviens vite avant que la carte ne change pour pouvoir goûter le reste de la carte... Mais quand même la glace myrtille lait ribot est délicieuse... acidité et sucre ... wouaouh !!!! Chocolat piment oui mais ( il fallait un mais !! ) manque de piment à mon goût ... et special thanks pour la cardamome dans la chantilly!!

J'ai trouvé ma cantine ❤️❤️ rien de négatif dans le terme cantine !!! Allez y les yeux fermé... la bouche ouverte et les papilles aux...
