The Spice Kitchen — Restaurant in Villeneuve-sur-Lot

🇨🇵 The Spice Kitchen, ce sont quelques mètres carrés de Bangladesh (et d´Angleterre) fixés au cœur des quelques kilomètres carrés (même pas 14...) que forme Lacapelle-Biron. Cette petite cité d´à peine 400 habitants compte 2 personnes qui ont fait ce pari fou de quitter Manchester et son urbanité pour se lancer dans la restauration et venir affoler nos papilles au fin fond du Lot-et-Garonne ! Sans parler cuisine, on tient déjà un sujet qui doit attirer les regards. Si on parle cuisine, désormais, on voyage bien au-delà des paysages précités : pakora, samoussa, bœuf/poulet/agneau massala à la carte et les plats du jour pour l'expérience épicée au "Pays du Bengale". Un sticky toffee pudding d´outre-manche pour finir en douceur, servi par un hôte à l'accent British (ou en anglais si vous pouvez faciliter l'échange et accentuer l´immersion au passage !). Bref, nous sommes sortis ravis de cette belle et riche expérience. Peut-être un poil cher pour que tout le monde puisse en profiter, mais c'est sans doute le prix à payer pour si bien manger dans un lieu si improbable.

🇬🇧 The Spice Kitchen is a few square meters of Bangladesh (and England) nestled in the heart of the few square kilometers (not even 14...) that make up Lacapelle-Biron. This small town of barely 400 inhabitants is home to two people who made the bold decision to leave Manchester and its urbanity to embark on a culinary adventure, delighting our taste buds in the depths of Lot-et-Garonne! Even without discussing the food, this story is enough to grab attention.

When it comes to the cuisine, we're now traveling far beyond the aforementioned landscapes: pakora, samosa, beef/chicken/lamb masala on the menu, and daily specials for a spicy experience in the "Land of Bengal." A sticky toffee pudding from across the Channel to finish on a sweet note, served by a host with a British accent (or in English if you prefer, to facilitate the exchange and enhance the immersion!).

In short, we left delighted by this rich and wonderful experience. It might be a tad pricey for everyone to enjoy, but it's probably the cost of eating so well in such an...
