Les Feuillantines — Restaurant in Yssingeaux

Perfect for touring the Haute Loire this little hotel is a hidden gem. Built three or four years ago the bedrooms are basic but modern, spacious, clean and comfortable. Situated on a hill just outside the town all the rooms have panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and are blissfully quite at night. At €59 a night you can't really go wrong.||||But don't just go for the accommodation the big attraction is the food. Owner Vincent Marcoux is an accomplished Chef and presents some spectacular dishes at very reasonable prices. Not surprisingly lunch times are popular with the local business community and can be hectic but evenings are generally relaxed and very enjoyable. ||||I stay here regularly and am always made to feel welcome by Sandrine and Vincent as well as the staff (and the dog!)|||| I can't really find fault with the place but here are two warnings for the unsuspecting:||||1) The hotel closes every Sunday and also Fridays in the winter months.||2) By 11:30 most nights the place is deserted - well I did say it was...

We stayed only for one night and had dinner in the hotel, because there is nothing much in the vicinity but it was really lovely. Everybody in the hotel was so friendly and relaxed, the food was very good and the price was fine. My colleague with whom I came here managed to do some yoga on the beautifully kempt lawn just outside her room. ||Breakfast was a bit basic but then we had had a big dinner.
