Since I read that there is a previous comment about the bad new years eve I can only do the same.
For 230 US Dollars it was really really disappointing. Maybe my fault to accept such a high price in Georgia. Sadly the food the second worst we had during our 9 day holiday in georgia.
Funnily we had almost the same dishes (no caviar but apart from that the same) in the village in Signaghi during a tour for 45 Georgian Lari (including wine and chacha, so basically the same). And that food was way better than the food from Ethnopgrapher.
Since I am too lazy to repeat myself I just copy my facebook message into that review which they never replied to (When it came to reservation and payment they were swifter):
"Hi, first thanks for organizing yesterday.
I only wanted to say that I am not really happy with the service provided yesterday for the price.
Our table was in the corner the furthest away from the stage so visibility was not the best, okay.
But worst was the experience with all the other tables already eating the main course and our table at the windows in the corner waiting with the mains till the others were finished. It felt like a 2 class society which I did not find okay.
The fact that it felt more like a party for russians is ok I guess even though I don’t like that either.
So to be honest I would truly find it fair to pay some refund back to me and my girlfriend of those 230 USD per person.
That would be kind. Or I might take in charge buyer protection from PayPal or just publish that on your websites which I don’t really want because I never do that. But in that case I would do that because it was really disappointing . Sorry but thats the truth."
Conclusion: Don´t go there, almost every restaurant in town is better than that.
And the other reviewer is right, the so called "toastmaster" singing don´t really deserve the...
Read moreMy recent experience at this restaurant left much to be desired, particularly in terms of service. Our party of six encountered a significant issue when they brought out one dish first, followed by the remaining four after a 15-minute wait, and lastly, the sixth dish arrived 10 minutes later. This disjointed service left me disappointed and frustrated.
In most restaurants, it's expected that meals for a group are served together to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for everyone. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. As a result, the dish I received initially had grown cold by the time the others arrived.
To make matters worse, when I attempted to discuss this with our waiter, I was met with an argumentative response claiming it was "GEORGIAN style" service. While I respect different cultural practices, I believe that in any restaurant, patrons should have the option to receive their meals together, regardless of the cuisine style.
If you value synchronized dining experiences, I would recommend specifying your preference for NOT receiving the "Georgian style" service when...
Read moreI selected this place for my birthday because it was recommended for traditional Georgian dance performances. I contacted the restaurant by WhatsApp 3 weeks in advance and clearly asked to book the table near the stage, which they promised me. As a result the manager seated us far away from the stage and refused to change the table even though there were similar size tables closer to the stage. The evening was ruined, the performance view was completely blocked by other people who were standing up the entire time. The food was regular, nothing special. And the manager didn’t even offer any compliment whatsoever knowing it was my birthday and that we were unhappy with the table. Impressive greediness and disregard, didn’t expect that from Georgian people knowing to be hospitable. Taking into account that the restaurant is located far away from the city center, don’t even bother picking it for your special occasion and coming by taxi, it doesn’t worth the money and time. Plenty of much better places in the city center with performance and...
