Gasthof Spelsberg — Restaurant in Altena

This gasthof has been in the same family since its inception in 1865 and they now have four buildings and a restaurant. It is in a hamlet outside Altena and as we drove down the narrow lanes we wondered where exactly we were going! This is definitely a place for lovers of the 'great outdoors'. We stayed in the building next to the restaurant, we were on the third floor, there is no lift, and the accommodation was over two levels. There were four beds up (more stairs) and a sitting room and bathroom downstairs as was the balcony which gave countryside views. Everything was clean and neat if a little souless. The bathroom had a shower cubicle and the shower was a good one; liquid soap and tissues were provided. There was only one mirror which was in the bathroom.||The accommodation seemed to have been set up as a self-catering apartment but is now without the essentials such as a fridge and oven. There is plenty of parking. There was a limited selection of food items at breakfast possibly because we seemed to be the only guests, though there was one other place setting. Guten Morgen, leider habe ich den Eindruck das die meisten Bewertungen aus einem anderen Restaurant stammen da ich oder wir,,vier Erwachsene und ein kleines Kind dort nichts von dem erlebt haben was sooo hoch gepriesen wird! Üppiges und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen,erfahrenes Personal in Küche sowie Services! Was es wirklich gibt ist die herrliche Aussicht,die ich aber auch mit picknicken hätte und Essen was dann auch schmeckt! Für uns waren die Herrschaften mit allem überfordert! Das Essen wurde warlos auf den Tisch gestellt so das man selber erst einmal schauen musste was zu welchem Essen gehörte! Die Kartoffeln zur Roulade kamen recht spät,so das das Essen fast kalt war! Gemüse der Saison:,, was geschmorte Paprika war aber nicht zu vergessen ein Scheibchen Zucchini die dann ja wirklich aus der Saison stammte! Das Essen meiner Lieben war auch nur lauwarm ,aber die Preise waren heiß kann ich nur sagen! Im Internet wurde die kleine Rinderroulade mit 22,90,- Euro angeboten tatsächlich 27,90,-vor Ort,die gebratene Leber mit Apfelringen 17,90,- Euro vor Ort 22,90,-Euro wobei wir die Apfelringe vermissten stadessen lag eine verlorene Scheibe Ananas unter dem so genannten Kartoffelpüree! Vom Aussehen dachten wir das es gebackener Käse sei, mit einem gutem Kartoffelpüree hatte das nun gar nichts zu tun! Die Salzkartoffeln zur Roulade war im heißen Wasser aufgewärmt und genau so haben sie auch geschmeckt fade und geschmacklos! Wir wollten dann das Essen mitnehmen, da uns der Hunger vergangen war, wo man die Auskunft bekam das sie keine Schalen zum einpacken hatten! Na so was, dass hatte ich auch noch nicht erlebt! - einen - Stern⭐Was für ein Armutszeugnis war das denn? Die Produkte wurden ohne Respekt vor der Umwelt und für jedes Tier was dort auf dem Teller landet hergestellt! Schade das es dafür sein Leben lassen musste....Also wer dort die Sterne verteilt hat muss wohl im Wahn des verteilens gewesen sein! Zwar kam zu Ende hin der Chef und fragte nach der Zufriedenheit was wir nicht ehrlich beantworten wollten da die Terrasse voller Gäste war! An Hand der Teller die nicht leer gegessen waren kann ein aufmerksamer Mensch ableiten das es wohl doch nicht so gut war! Das ganze Team war sehr jung und unerfahren! Das Restaurant wurde uns sehr (empfohlen ) da es die Location für eine Hochzeit und auch für ein namenhaftes Reiseunternehmen war! Für die,,à la carte" Gäste scheinen aber leider andere Prioritäten gesetzt worden sein! Bitte nicht weiter so!!! MFG...
