We booked this as a fun place to stay - I mean, who doesn't want to stay in a palace? However, the rooms are so extremely modern that they are a bit of a disappointment. The property is beautiful, though. The view of the hunting grounds from the old palace is breathtaking.||||BEWARE of their nightmarish door locks. I've never seen anything so ridiculous. You have to press your electronic button key on the elevator to get it to move. It took us 15 minutes to get our door to work. I'm not sure who thought those locks were a good idea.||||There was a language barrier. They practically had to go into the village to find someone who spoke English and then their English was about as good as our German. I don't expect people to speak English everywhere, but, I was surprised that a hotel didn't have people on staff who did. ||||Breakfast was fantastic the next morning in the restaurant in the old Palace. The chef spoke almost no English but we managed to get along just fine and his food was delicious. ||||It's a little tricky to find where you go in - pull in by the old church into the cobblestone courtyard and check in at the new building. Then you go park off the property after getting your luggage out. It wasn't clear at all and we spent a lot of time trying to figure out where the entrance was. It wasn't well marked.||||The rooms were comfortable and quiet.
