Gutshaus von Bismarck GbR — Restaurant in An der Schmücke

When you are interested in areas you do business, you learn a lot of the region just by visiting the region and go for scenic places and restaurant hunting.

This place I found on Google Maps and since I was visiting the special castle in Heldrungen I decided to have dinner overhere.

The location is situated in an old "Gutshof" which belongs to the von Bismarck family. When you have seen the movie "Die weisse Feder" (the White feather) you feel if you are in this movie (positive) when you arrive. (since the story of the movie is not soo positive)

I was for the moment the only visitor, later some hotel guests joined in as well. They have a lovely "Gaststube" which is not very big but lovely decorated with old pictures of the life on the Gutshof approx a century ago.

The young chef is providing good food with local vegetables and herbs which tsted very well. They do not have a big choice on the menu, but that is not necessary. What they serve is just nice...

We stayed for two nights with our small kids and really enjoyed the time. Large appartment for a good price, great breakfast & local cake. Owner took care of us whereever possible! Also the area is good for hiking and short trips to e.g Kyffhäuser. We would have expected more animals on the farm and the possibility to give a helping hand (as called out on several portals) This hasn't been possible,...

Unfreundliche Begrüßung! Trotz dessen das wir vorgebucht hatten, war nichts fertig! Wir waren 7 stunden unterwegs und freuten uns sehr auf das Zimmer! Man müsse jetzt nur wegen uns das Zimmer herrichten und auch das würde Minimum 1 std in Anspruch nehmen. Erst danach wurden wir gefragt ob wir Geschäftlich oder Privat unterwegs sind. Als auch das geklärt war , wurde die Stimmung nicht besser.

Wir kamen uns vor wie zusätzlicher Ballast und nicht wie willkommene Gäste!

Habe es noch nicht erlebt das man potentielle Kunden auf eine herablassende Art und Weise abfertigt. Von den harmonischen Bildern im Internet ,haben wir leider nichts harmonisches mit nehmen können! Außer einer Empfehlung vielleicht nicht grade in Corona Zeiten zu buchen ,dann klappts bestimmt auch mit der Freundlichkeit und einer...
