Landgasthof Hoffmann — Restaurant in Arnsberg

This hotel is located a little outside of the town of Arnsberg. It is nestled up against the Mühlenbachtal forest and trails. It is close enough to Arnsberg for a cheap and easy cab ride but it is secluded enough to be quite, calm and collected.||The rooms are great and very clean. All come with a in-suite bathroom and new furniture and TVs.||What really makes this hotel a great stay is the restaurant. The restaurant serves some of the best food I have ever eaten in Germany; and most other places in the world I have visited for that fact. The menu is seasonal and most of the items are made in house. All of the sausage and charcuterie is home made. Much of their Produce is from their farm. I believe all of their meats are from their farm as well. You can certainly tell the quality of food and ingredients. The eggs in the morning are absolutely some of the best eggs I have ever had in my life. For my last visit I had locally hunted Elk tenderloin with a demi-glaze sauce and fresh winter vegetables. It was amazing. The beer line up is fantastic as well, they serve Veltins which complements every dish. They also have a full line of fantastic regional schnapps for after dinner.||They take pride in their service, food and lodging and you can tell. Gasthof Hoffmann is just outside Arnsberg in Saurland. It is easy to locate and has plenty of parking. The bedroom was huge with a double and a single bed as well as a spacious seating area. A good night's sleep is assured here in this quiet location. A disappointing feature was the awful smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom. (Did not pervade bedroom). Someone had been avoiding the smoke detector in the bedroom! We bought an air freshener but is was defeated by the odour of smoke.||The restaurant was very busy and popular with local residents. Service was good. The food was very good but the portions were too big for us. The food is enhanced by the family having their own smallholding/farm behind the hotel providing...
