We stayed her a couple of years ago and it was a natural choice for this 5 day stay. This apartment was in an annex of the hotel, the furthest room away, with limited cooking facilities if we wished to have our own evening meals, breakfasts were included in the price; and still cheaper than a standard room. ||We remember more cooking stuff being available last time: this time the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery were in even greater short supply, and we had to ask for knives at breakfast. There is no table in the tiny kitchen area and only a coffee table to eat in the main room. At least the room is big, with a huge main bed, and a single made up (which we used to put our stuff on).||Our previous stay was in October, we had not realised how loud the noise was from the Bundesstraße 65, the major road at the back of the hotel. The windows had to be kept open, for that reason alone we would not use this room again.||Wi-Fi was limited in the room, and I had to use the internet, so went and sat in the breakfast room each day, and worked away – I was always given coffee by the staff on duty. Breakfasts were very good, with an extensive range of everything – I counted 19 different varieties of meat. It is typical German, but my hubbie was able to get a decent cup of tea – not always possible. If scrambled eggs are your desire, you either need to get in early, or ask for fresh. The staff speak English, but will happily put up with bad German (mine- anyway) which is what I prefer.||We only ate in the restaurant one evening – a Monday, and I’m sorry to say that we were extremely disappointed. We had eaten there last time very well, and had sat in the bistro area as the place was heaving. This time it was not busy and we sat in the restaurant. I had flammkuchen, and expected it to be light, crispy and delicious: it was heavy, stodgy and rubbery. My husband had Wiener schnitzel, but he did not enjoy it either. The crème brulee we shared was dry. It is such a shame as I’ve read some of the German Trip Advisor reviews and they think very highly of the place.||Would I recommend it? If you are biking, cycling, or on a bus it is extremely popular with Germans, if in the area it’s worth an overnight stop, but not much longer. Visit the Schloß in...

Read moreWe were in Bückeburg to attend a family wedding so the hotel was occupied by a large number of our family members from the U.S. and elsewhere. Our room was very nice. It was on the ground floor so in the back we had a yard with table and chairs, which was a nice touch. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, including excellent breads. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night we arrived. The food was good but the service was quite sloooow, although that could have been because we were a large party (around 15). Parking at the hotel and restaurant is quite tight. ||||The location is great and very amenable to walks into Bückeburg. There is also a nice jogging path right across the street from the restaurant. ||||This was a great place to stay with a large number of family members. The hotel was very flexible which made it easy to have impromptu gatherings. For example, one night they allowed us to occupy the (closed) breakfast area for a large family gathering and provided waitstaff from the restaurant for drink orders. Another time we had an impromptu "picnic" in one of the outside seating areas. ||||Long story short, would definitely recommend Grosse Klus if you need a place to stay in or...
