My wife is from Lichtenfels, so this trip involved a reunion with old friends for her. We stayed here 3 nights. The hotel is 2/3 the way up the Staffelberg, and it was a nice climb for us one morning to the top. Our room and bathroom were large and clean but on the 3d floor without an elevator. Luckily, we are in good condition and could handle the stairs. However, it happened to be quite hot for Germany at this time (94 degrees, F.), and there was no air conditioning. Thus, it was somewhat stuffy on the top floor. We opened the windows, but could not leave lights on because that drew insects. There is a wonderful beer garden at the ground floor, and we had a reunion coffee there with my wife's old school buddies one afternoon. WiFi was free for hotel guests and pretty good. We had planned to have dinner there on a Monday evening, but that turned out to be the evening they are closed to dining. It was an interesting drive to Lichtenfels from the hotel, through narrow farm roads. In this regard, Romansthal is an interesting old farm section of Stafffelstein and it was fun to walk around there. All in all, our stay here was interesting and we enjoyed it a lot.
