After a long hike in the area, we decided to stop at Forellenhof Walgerfranz for dinner, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The setting alone makes it worth visiting: a charming beer garden with plenty of space, overlooking the forest and wide meadows. It has a calm, natural atmosphere that feels like a reward after being outdoors all day.

Among our group, I chose the trout – and it was outstanding. The fish was fresh, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality, and it’s clear that this is one of their specialties. The others in our group enjoyed their meals as well, and everyone was more than satisfied. Together with a cold beer, it made for a truly enjoyable evening.

What also stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome without rushing us. That combination of good food, warm hospitality, and a beautiful setting makes this place special.

If you are hiking or traveling nearby, I highly recommend stopping by. Whether for trout, traditional dishes, or just a drink in the beer garden, Forellenhof Walgerfranz delivers an authentic and relaxing...

My experience:

Vegetarian friendly - 3 limited options Cost - €€€ Ambience - 5 beautiful beer garden Service - 3, slow Accessibility - 2.5 Food presentation - 4 Food quality - 4 Food taste - 3 Child and pet friendly - yes

I had been there with my colleagues after a team outing on the isar for lunch. The place is a bit remote and one needs to a car for easy access. The beer garden was located beside a small farm that bred chickens fish and ducks outdoors. With wooden benches and seat pillows under a shady tree it was the perfect spot to relax. But do note that the service is really slow. It took them 45+ mins to start serving the food. By then we were already on 2nd beer. So if you want a quick stop over or too hungry I wouldn't recommend this place. Prices were slightly on the higher side.

Bratkartoffeln - tasty but I have had better elsewhere Noodles with maize - good Helles Bier - served cold. It was more bitter to my taste. Will be suitable for those who like it bitter. Fresh strawberries with vanilla ice cream - excellent Apfel kucherl and Apfel Strudel - the Präsentation was Very tempting...

Couldn’t ask for a better experience! The food is very good, the atmosphere is wow you’re right inside a pasture with animals around apple and pair trees very beautiful and relaxing The staff was helpful Mind you that what they translated as “pancakes” to english is actually “Crepe suzette”- which means we happily ate it because the kids didnt like the orange flavour 😄 We had one of the fish dishes with almond crust and spinach and potatoes on the side And the roast beef with Käsespätzle which were awesome The kids of course split a kids schnitzel dish which was big and tasty Highly recommended! (And was open on a Monday unlike many other places)

#Fischgericht We got luck today. After work driving to this searched Fisch restaurant nearby. The appetiser of hot fish soup is one of my favourite. The panfried Thymian-Forelle tasted really good, as to me brought up by a river. The smiling attentive service was impressive and soothing. We liked the cozy summer Biergarten vibes too.
