Gasthof Hochlenzer Berchtesgaden — Restaurant in Berchtesgaden

We looked for a place around Eagles Nest and saw this restaurant had great views! Definitely lived up to them and the view was fantastic. The food was good and I ordered the ice coffee, which came out in this tremendous glass and was pretty delicious. The service was also very nice and everyone was so pleasant!

This place only accepts cash, which we realized when we came to pay. The waitress was very nice as our family sorted through the last of our euros to see if we had enough to pay (which we did). While counting, she kindly told us of a place to get cash and said that she’d give us her mailbox right by there so we could put the rest of the cash in there. While it didn’t come to that and we had enough, it was such a sweet gesture.

Overall, an excellent place to come sit and enjoy the view with some food...

I cannot say more about this place other than, it's a must!!! The view, the people, the service, THE SOMMERRODDELBAHN!!!! Whether you hike to it or drive, the balcony seating will make you forget everything about who you are and then the food comes out. Me and my family ate here twice during our nine days and did our best to span the whole menu. I can honestly say there was not a single thing we tried we didn't love or highly like! It has a playground for when the young ones get bored, the beer is always flowing, and the local hikers (on weekends) are...

We had dinner here after our visit to the Eagles Nest. We had table at the window, and even though it was a little cloudy, the views were spectacular. The staff was enthousiastic and friendly. I had the currywurst, which was of very good quality. For I ordered a kaisersmarren, which tasted amazing. My boyfriend had to help finish though, because it was quite a bit for me.
