This visit was a study in human misery.

Not ONE of the staff smiled as much as ONCE. Really. Not a smile to be seen. Even though I made an effort to be extra nice and friendly and even funny, they were simply not having it. I have to say I was also fascinated by the young lady with the enormous botox pout (perhaps smiling was painful) and elaborate eyeliner who exuded so much misery I started entertaining thoughts of impaling myself on a blunt plastic straw, but decided, after brief consideration, to continue on my way ASAP so I could embrace a glass of redwine on my return to my still far-away home and try to forget this brief glimpse of Employee Hell. Because, what else could it be but dreadful working conditions?

Also, the Ladies' was pitifully soiled and lacking in toilet paper and soap.

The food? Well, it's Burger King. As expected, the Coke Zero really tasted like sugary (!) nothing and the crispy chicken burger tasted like an overcooked chicken who had spent its life in the same miserable working conditions as the staff that served up its carcass, and the fries - well. Fries. Salty strips of cardboard. No amount of mayonnaise or tomato sauce could mask its lack of taste.

Now - can somebody please explain why I let myself get talked into visiting these soul-destroyingly awful places as a quick way to get a top-up on a long day of travelling? It sure as hell...

Wir waren gegen 11.30 Uhr dort. Kein Betrieb, lediglich 4 Gäste drinnen und 2 draußen. Bedienung sichtlich genervt von meinen Nachfragen, da wir galt meist zu McDonald's gehen und weniger zu BK (gibt's bei uns nicht im Ort). Wir wurden dann in gebrochenem Deutsch und arg nuschelnd gefragt, ob wir dann unsere Bestellung komplett aufgegeben hätten. Im Hintergrund konnte man einen anderen Mitarbeiter beobachten, der die Nuggets mit dem Frittiersieb aus dem Fett nahm und die noch tropfenden Nuggets in eine andere Box füllte. Auf dem Rückweg zur Fritteuse rutschte er gehörig auf dem Fett aus, das beim Umfüllen auf den Boden gelangt war. Zum Glück konnte er sich anfangen und ist nicht gestürzt. Unsere Bestellung (2 große Menüs, 2x Kids-Menü) wurde auf 3 Tabletts verteilt - hätte auch auf 1 gepasst, aber dann wäre die Dame mit 2 Burgern, 2x Pommes und 2x Getränk durcheinander gekommen. Pommes arg salzlastig, im Kids-Menü waren die Portionen gerade noch ok. Nur mühsam kam die Dame mit der vorhandenen Abfüllhilfe der Pommes zurecht. Alles in allem waren die Burger noch lauwarm am Tisch, die Nuggets knusprig und die Pommes auch. Leider enttäuschend. Die sanitären Anlagen sind auch lachhaft. Als Frau kennt man es, dass man vor den Toiletten warten muss. Hier haben aber die Herren gegen 12.00 Uhr Schlange gestanden. Alles sehr eng und Sauberkeit gerade noch ok. Wickelmöglichkeit für Säuglinge auf der Damentoilette eine Frechheit. Total beengt und kaum zu händeln. Sehr traurig und ganz sicher...
