Lindwerder — Restaurant in Berlin

Absolutely outstanding food. Chef team deserves major compliments for both design and execution of generous portions with such well-balanced flavors. Wine by the glass also well-chosen for the menu and good quality, though more red options would be nice. The short and romantic boat ride is also done flawlessly by a friendly and informative driver. The atmosphere is as appealing as it looks from the Grunewald hiking trails where I'm sure many people spot it for the first time.

The night we dined there was a wedding party and this probably happens often, they had separated it nicely from the main restaurant which was only half full. The staff however seemed completely overwhelmed, mixing up orders frequently, forgetting to bring drinks and then adding them to the bill a second time when gently reminded, and failing to provide adequate lighting for some time after sundown. We would have posted pictures of the beautiful food but when it arrived it was already too dark to see it. It seemed like half of the tree-mounted light arrays were out of order but this was not acknowledged. We also had trouble parking as the only walkable (legal!) Parkplatz fills up very quickly and requires waiting for some time for people to leave their spots, so arrive a good half hour before your reservation if driving (the last bus in the vicinity is at 20:30). Perhaps a shuttle to the main transit routes at Wannsee or Pichelsberg would be a good idea, as the boat shuttle already functions so well.

When I asked for the mistaken items to be removed from the bill, it was done without fuss, and the staff were generally friendly if very preoccupied and rushed. But there was an obvious lack of management and I hope this is not usually the case, as the food and the rest of the experience are so worth...

Appreciate the quick reponse from the owner. However, it speaks for itself that the owner prefers to "defend" his employee rather than asking the customer of the background for the bad service review... I would never complain about long waiting times (which we obviously had) since I understand the shortage of staff post COVID. What I on the other side can't understand / accept is being rude and impolite to the customers, that has nothing to do with being understaffed. The person made multiple bad and rude comments (e.g. on the question whether the 4th dish is coming soon, she responded "I only have 2 hands so I can't carry more than 3 plates at a time" [just 1 of many examples] , why not just saying "it's coming shortly"?? Is it so hard to be friendly??). But whatever, apparently there is no interest in returning customers... too bad, cuz the location is great indeed.

1. Horrible service, being served by an old tall lady server (with dark brown hair) which absolutely unequipped with proper service communication.
2. The food is average but very bad value for money.
3. One star extra for the view and location which is pretty nice.
4. Obviously the owner doesn’t care about the service there since there are already had so many customers...

Bei bestem Wetter mit der Fähre übergesetzt und Tisch Nr. 1 wie reserviert zugewiesen bekommen. Erneut kann man behaupten, dass man herzlich willkommen ist. Getränkewünsche wurden schnell aufgenommen und serviert. Genüsslich erst einmal den Drink zu sich nehmen und dann ganz entspannt das Essen bestellen. Die gewählte Vorspeise überzeugte wie auch das Wiener Schnitzel mit sautierten Kartoffeln sowie den Berichterstatter als auch seiner Begleitung. Der Berichterstatter, der gerne mal als Gourmet bezeichnet wird, kann nur sagen, das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist für den Genuss der Speisen und Getränke in dieser traumhaften Lage mehr als stimmig. Alle reden von diesem doch so schönen Wort der "Wertschätzung", welches leider nur zu wenig umgesetzt wird. Im Restaurant auf der Insel Lindwerder begegnet man sich zwischen Mitarbeitenden und Gast auf Augenhöhe und weiß gegenseitige Wertschätzung in vollen Zügen zu genießen. Warum in die Ferne schweifen, wenn das Gute liegt so nah. Ein ganz liebes DANKESCHÖN an die Mitarbeitenden dieser 1A-Location, die einen Abend in der immer hektischer werdenden Welt zu einem wahrhaften Traum werden ließen. Manch ein Restaurant-Betreiber könnte auf Lindwerder vor Neid erblassen. Liebe Grüße vom Berichterstatter an das ganze Team in der Location auf Lindwerder.

Am Sonntag bei bestem Wetter kurz überlegt und richtig entschieden - auf zur Insel Lindwerder. Mit Blick auf's Wasser eine Location, die Urlaubsfeeling pur bietet - ein Traum! Das Krombacher für den Berichterstatter wurde perfekt temperiert serviert. Die Getränke für die Begleitung (Aperol sowie ein weiterer Spritz aus der Karte) waren ebenfalls top! Der kleine Snack (gratinierter Ziengenkäse und das Sauerteigbrot) überzeugte ebenfalls! Die Service-Mitarbeitenden sind sehr aufmerksam und auf sehr natürliche Art und Weise kundenorientiert. Die Chefin lebt hier etwas vor, was gut von allen Mitarbeitenden angenommen und umgesetzt wird - super! Der Berichterstatter und seine Begleitung haben auf Grund der schönen Lage und aller Service-Mitarbeitenden der Location für das kommende Wochenende einen Tisch zum Essen reserviert.
