Restaurant und Hotel Neu-Helgoland — Restaurant in Berlin

My family and I stayed here between Christmas and New Year's and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a little dicey when we first arrived, after driving through some dark, narrow streets, and then trying to find an open door at the hotel (we had arrived shortly after the check-in time). But once we found people in the restaurant, we were set! The rooms are very clean and plenty spacious. The area is quiet and quite beautiful, with the hotel sitting right at the edge of a pretty lake. I saw swans swimming past one morning. The breakfast is decent, but a little heavy on bread and meat. I would have appreciated some non-dairy, non-egg options.||||Not many people on the staff speak English. It is a bit of a communication challenge, but the staff are all super friendly and do whatever they can to make the guest happy.||||We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Pleasant location that offers a vast number of tables in a huge garden situated on the banks of Müggelspree. On the whole, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Only one youngish waiter did not seem to know the basics of polite behaviour and addressed people in a highly inappropriate manner. The menu caters for all tastes and purses but seems to be too little seasonal - goulash of venison and red cabbage are a strange offer on a hot summer day!
