We had visited Jacob Brauerei in September 2010 on an earlier visit to Germany. When we returned to visit Christmas Markets, we knew we had to stay here. They advertise that they have the best wheat beer in the world. It is not an idle boast! The gasthaus and restaurant overlook a lake and we were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony! The rooms were roomy and very comfortable. The restaurant served absolutely delicious meals! The staff was so friendly and helpful! ||||There is beer, water and soft drinks waiting in the room for you, as they bottle all three there on site. There was a beautiful snowfall during our stay so we put the drinks in the snow on our balcony while we had dinner. When we got back to the room, we enjoyed the drinks and the view. ||||The only complaint we had with our entire stay was the breakfast. When we went down to eat, with still an hour to serve, the trays were bare and no attempt was made to fill them. It was as if enough food was put out for the number of travelers staying and if someone ate more than their share, any others coming in later were out of luck. The only thing that was resupplied were the rolls. With the high quality of every other aspect of this location, I was very surprised by this. ||||When we checked out the next morning, we were handed two more bottles of beer to take with us! We are hoping to take our daughters to the Christmas markets this year and will definitely spend at least one...

Read moreI had the pleasure of stying here recently on business and what a pleasure it was. Myself and a colleague were treated to lunch here and the food was amazing, what a treat in such a beautiful setting by the lake. I would imagine it would be the perfect place to come and relax in the summer or in the warmer weather when you can sit outside.||||We stayed overnight too and the rooms were fantastic, typical German guesthouse style and exceptionally clean and comfortable. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, beautiful crisp linen and good quality duvets. The rooms are large 10-12m long but so warm and inviting even though it was -10 outside.||||All the staff were pleasant and helpful and very proud of their brewery products. Their weissbeer certainly lives up to its reputation but they have an amazing range of other beverages, I particularly liked their lemon water which was complimentary in the room. ||||I will go back again on business and hopefully for pleasure too. It's situated in an amazing part of Germany and a great base to...
