We had a stop here after a long travel, when we saw the menu we got really excited about the ribs, wings and milkshakes, we were all craving real American diner junk food. At the first glance, everything looked delicious, portions were really big. We took a mixed platter wings and ribs with sauces and coleslaw. The portion of meat was enormous. Coleslaw was tiny, it was not enough even for one person and it didn'treally taste great. We took two sauces, one was cheese and jalapeño, second was sour cream. Cheese sauce reminded me of Chio spicy cheese dip that anyone can buy in supermarkets, sour cream sauce was just ok. Now, the meat! What can I say....that was probably one of the worst ribs I have tried. I left 3/4 of my portion. Chicken wings were a bit better, but not great, had a tiny spicy kick, but apart from that, really boring. Coke served is some brand that I don't even remember the name. My friends said that the burger tasted funny, meat was weird taste and smell. Our kids had mac and cheese that was not good. Seriously, how hard is to make good mac and cheese? Our server was ok, minor hick ups,...
Read moreThis place looks amazing from the outside: metal exterior, neon signs, classic diner vibes. The booths and counter seating are sick. It’s honestly surprising to see a place like this in Germany, and the concept has so much potential. But as it stands, it just doesn’t really deliver.
There’s no free water and no all-day breakfast, which are kind of non-negotiables for a real American diner. The food I had was good, but overall it felt expensive (six onion rings for 8€ is wild) and the whole experience lacked authenticity. I was also disappointed that the ice cream came out in a prepackaged cup on a plate. No banana split or sundae, whipped cream on top, classic diner stuff!
The interior has A LOT going for it, but some of the design choices are lame. The menu design doesn’t match the retro theme at all, and there’s an empty space above the counter that clearly used to hold a menu display, which would’ve made a lot more sense. One of those places where you can see the potential, and you wish someone would take it over and really commit to making it great. As it is, it just...
Read moreBorn and raised just outside of Chicago. I moved to Germany over ten years ago and this is the first place I've found that actually hits close to a real American diner experience. Thankfully their portion sizes are still European friendly (which I absolutely appreciate) but the burgers were great. The onion rings with honey mustard sauce were delicious. The chocolate cake was absolutely to die for. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our 10th wedding anniversary. We are headed back in a few to get some buttermilk pancakes and my excitement is palpable! We'll be back again and again!
Update 07/09/21 My husband and I have been back multiple times. Both for dinner and for breakfast. Americans! The bacon is crispy and the pancakes are proper. I've included some more photos.
They also put an acceptable amount of ice in...
