I had a very bad experience at this hotel. I stayed for one week there (31/05 until 08/06/19) due to a business trip. My flight back to my country was at 7pm on a Sunday and someone would pick me up at 3:30pm at the hotel. The checkout time is 10am so I asked to stay at the entrance room until 3:30. Around 3pm a lady kicked me out. She said I had to leave and stay anywhere on the street. I was as kind as possible but her behavior was unacceptable. ||I also had lent a plug adapter which I gave back to a hotel employee but this lady was frightened and angry accusing I had stolen the adapter that costs no more than 5 euros. ||||Other topics: ||Internet connection: if you intend to do any job that needs internet connection, forget it! The internet is slow and disconnects all the time.||Location: if all you want is some rest maybe makes sense to stay at this hotel because it’s in the middle of nowhere. To arrive at the center of Hamburg you will spend at least 2 hours by public transportation (also you won’t find a buss all the time). A taxi coasts more than 100euros due to the distance. ||The restaurante of the hotel opens from 3pm until 10pm from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday it’s closed and you won’t find any restaurant opened around. The only option is a Mc Donald’s and nothing else. ||There is no reception service on Sundays and after 10pm during the week. Also the lift doesn’t work at night. Depending on the time you arrive or you have to leave, you will need to carry your luggage on the stairs (that’s what happened to me when I arrived)||||The rooms are nice and the people who work at the hotel are very friendly, except the lady I described above that should never work dealing with...

Read moreSlept here twice now on the way from the Netherlands to Sweden with the family and enjoyed staying here a lot. The hotel is in a typical German 'Landgasthof' style, but then also reflects the owners familys love for vintage (race) cars. For me personally that's a plus, because the house is also a bit of a museum with many racing posters and racing related items. Pictures, petrol pumps, old oil cans and an impressive collection of model cars. For us, it checks pretty much all boxes: an affordable neat hotel, close to the road, good rooms and a great restaurant. Also, and that's not normal for a hotel in this price range, a pool! The kids love to take a swim after a hot day in the car! The best way to cool down. As mentioned, the restaurant has delicious food and great service. Also the beer from the owners brewery is very good. If I had to criticise something, I'd ask for another vegetarian dish on the menu. The same goes for the (smaller) kids menu. The team is very flexible in ad hoc making up a dish for the kids, but a simple vegetarian dish for children would be an addition, anyways. The Fish with mustard sauce is fantastic! The breakfast is good, especially the fruit salad! We will definitely come...
