Rotes Ross Marktbergel — Restaurant in Burgbernheim (VGem)

Lovely main floor, beautiful quiet little town, epic food. Nice people and some very nice neighborhood cats :)

For Americans specifically: the rooms are spacious, the food is amazing (if you are new to Germany, be aware dining is much quieter and peaceful here).

But seriously, the food was delicious- did not expect that from a small hotel in a small town! The staff was very kind about my quasi-German language skills, and we made things work just fine despite the language barrier.

I understand about 2/3 of the hotel is renovated into a lovely Bavarian aesthetic, and 1/3 is in a more mid-century modern older look. They are very different looks, but I was very comfortable nonetheless. Lovely views from the room over the village. The linoleum in the bathroom was a modernists dream- hipsters in Munich dream about such linoleum! :)

Overall- I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I will dream...

Very nicely restructured countryside resort in the middle of the village (Marktberel) with few and large rooms, attentive staff and award-winning cuisine in the restaurant. ||Breakfast corresponds to generally high German standards.||Possible disadvantage in Summer the rather warm rooms especially on the second floor and some noise -if on the wrong side- for sensitive ears or guests who want to keep the window open during the night. Getting there by car is recommended and almost inevitable, but repaid by low rates (single 45 Euros with breakfast, double 67 (no separate beds, ask in advance if so needed) and beautiful landscape, with world-renowned Rothenburg ob der Tauber only 18 Km away.||P.S.: Get a good map and preferably avoid...
