Walsumer Hof — Restaurant in Duisburg

Classic fish restaurant near the Rhine River. We had just taken a little walk along the Rhine River with the dogs and we stopped by this restaurant.A waiter walked up to the car and gave us a sample of roasted potatoes with bacon. If he had not done this, we may have driven away. And the potatoes were tasty and slightly greasy, we we really wanted to try the restaurant. They serve schnitzel and sausage, but because this is primarily a fish restaurant, that’s what all four of us ordered. Our meals were cooked quickly, and perhaps less than 15 minutes. The waiters were very friendly and offered us a menu that included a history of the restaurant in the local town. There were some cute donkeys and a goat grazing next to the restaurant. I think the kids would enjoy seeing them. The waiters brought our food out to the car, and added some extra potatoes. The food was served hot. On the side we had some french fries, and cabbage salad. wir sind seit 1994 Stammgäste im Walsumer Hof und kommen mehrmals im Jahr. Es gibt hier eigentlich nicht „das“ Highlight. Der Walsumer Hof ist einzigartig und jeder Besuch ist etwas besonderes. Freundlichkeit und Service sind echt und auch unter größtem Stress nicht im geringsten eingeschränkt. Man kommt als Fremder und geht als Freund. Die Speisen sind alle sehr gut. In den fast dreißig Jahren haben wir alles probiert und gegessen, was auf der Karte steht. Und auch das, was als Tagesangebot außerhalb der Karte serviert wird. Und da gibt es immer was. Im Lokal muss bzw. sollte man reservieren, sonst kommt man schnell vergebens. Spontanbesuche, insbesondere in den Herbst- und Wintermonaten (Muschelzeit) sind eher nicht zu empfehlen. Wenn, dann anrufen und hoffen, dass vielleicht noch ein Plätzchen frei ist. Ach ja, im Lokal sitzt man ggf. auch mit anderen Gästen an einem Tisch und es gibt zwei Essenszeiten. Von 17:00 Uhr bis 19:30 Uhr und ab 20:00 Uhr. Darauf wird man aber bei der Reservierung bzw. dem Anruf auch hingewiesen. Wer das nicht mag oder keinesfalls möchte, dem sei der Biergarten in den Sonnenmonaten empfohlen. Dieser ist jedoch nur bei trockenem Wetter geöffnet, benötigt dafür aber keine Reservierung und es gibt keine festen Zeiten. Das Angebot an Speisen und Getränken ist sowohl innen, als auch im Biergarten gleich.

Fazit: Der Walsumer Hof ist ein Erlebnis mit „Suchtfaktor“. Wer einmal hier war, kommt...
