Weinstube Marienhof — Restaurant in Edenkoben

I gave 4 stars mainly for the appreciation for my in-laws, they have put effort and time to arrange such big party.

In reality, I would only give 3 stars to this place. It is really mediocre, nothing special with exceptional weather we luckily had.

We had a big party with ca. 25 people there in mid June. And we were very lucky with the weather, not so warm like the other days, so we were able to sit outside enjoy the fresh air and breeze.

Be fair to say, it is not easy to serve so many guests at one time, so I wouldn't be too critical about the service quality; it was mediocre and the food ordering went like symphony☺

Food: I gave 4*, the main dish - pork cheek stew was good, salad was very fresh and colorful, but the appetizer - cheese was not well prepared, it's too hard, Camembert should be softer in the middle if eat warm.

Drink: 4* I only ordered wine, they were good for the price.

Ambient/ atmosphere: 2*. The facility was just not there yet for the garden/courtyard! Uncomfortable chairs and dusty gravel floor. Imagine every time you want to move or stand up, you have to struggle with the feet of the chairs that are stuck in the gravel!!! Many times the elderly in our party couldn't stand up from the chair, because the chair was leaning backward due to the floor not being...

Although the place and surroundings are great, the food is also really good, no complains there, but this people that are up front asking if you have a reservations or no are just so UNFRIENDLY and NOT POLITE, they treat you as if they are doing you a favor for going there, we were recommended from the Vinotel around the corner, with high expectations we went there because we knew not much from around and there was this Man with glasses who just told us if you have no reservations is going to be so difficult and made faces and sounds as if our arriving was too much too handle and then proceed to say you will have to wait too much, but too much, but too much he said that about 5 times and completely bother, I mean we were there to have wine and good food and a good time, but he was so Miserable that we just felt miserable as well, luckily came this Nice Lady who attended us and treated us all so well, and was so charming, that we forgot the previous encounter and enjoyed our dinner! So a piece of advice to the people up front especially to this Man wearing glasses, learn to treat your guests, after all that’s why you are and have a Restaurant, you need the people coming to you, not the other way around, and to the lady who attended is, Thank you for being so kind...

Nice restaurant and venue with good food. We are there quiet often. It‘s nice inside and outside. But the service is sometimes just terrible. We usually joke about it and say it‘s an „entertainment restaurant“… once we had a management meeting there and booked a room for 20. When we arrived and asked if we can have a drink outside the waiter just said „no“. Without any explanation. Other times we asked if the waiter can come to our table after a long waiting time and the staff was like „you‘re waiting like everyone else“. Yesterday we‘ve been there with a group of around 50 and later in the evening we searched the whole restaurant for waiters because they just disappeared and nobody had drinks… You see we like it there and always come back, but if you can‘t laugh about the harsh service better...
