McDonald's — Restaurant in Emmerich on the Rhine

We had ordered at one of the machines to eat there. We did not get a receipt and did not find this strange because we rarely go to mcdonald's so we did not expect one. After 15 minutes of waiting at the table, we still did not get served. I went to the front desk and asked. Our order was unknown. I listed all that we ordered and paid for, specifically an iced coffee too, that item does not get ordered a lot and an employee said he did definitely not see an order with iced coffee come by. So we concluded something must have gone wrong at the ordering machine. The manager came over and insisted we made a mistake, not the machine. I called my dad over to check if the payment did go through at his bank account, and it did, he could show everyone at about 20min. ago we made a payment for a meal at this mcdonald's. The manager then questioned if that was even their location. It clearly stated so. Then she suggested we had already eaten the food, which was rude and definitely not the case, then she went back to it not being mcdonald's fault. They did not have the order, we did not get a receipt, so WE must have done something wrong. We were getting upset at that point because we were hungry and misunderstood. My dad said he wanted his money back then, since it wasn't his fault but theirs. The manager took this personal and started yelling at him. There was no way to get to her and she seemed to be under the impression that the mcdonald's ordering machines could not make mistakes. So we were at a standstill. My dad sat back at the table since the manager and him could not talk to each other any longer and I explained my dad meant that it was the machine's fault, not hers. We were just frustrated at the lack of understanding from her/their side since we were paying guests presenting an obvious issue with proof but were just blatantly told we were trying to scam them, we should just order again if we wanted food and no, we could not get money back. We ended up sitting back down at the table, both upset, angry and hungry, trying to figure out how we could get our banking app to return our money to us so we could leave, but that seemed impossible since we gave authorization to the machine. The manager started calling with a higher up at this point. That was the one good thing she did, out of her own accord. She could have just ignored us.. but it turned out it was a machine failure!!! which very seldomly happened to Dutch clients at German mcdonald's if a certain bank card is used. It was a known problem. We were 45mins further and ended up having to make the same order again. At the end we had to pay double, were given a lukewarm meal at this place where the atmosphere had really frozen down, and a couple of papers to be able to prove we were victim of double payment due to machine failure. The manager begrudgingly gave me some sort of apology and the kind guy at the cash register got us two free cups of mcflurry for our trouble. That guy had been kind to us from beginning to end, I wish he was the manager of this mcdonald's location. -thank you for reading this far. We won't be visiting a mcdonald's any time...

Guten Abend werte Leser, Guten abend werte McDonalds-Mitarbeiter,

Ich möchte die beste Niederlassung mindestens Deutschlands vorstellen. Nach dem schnellen Bestellvorgang, ging es dann los. Uns fehlten Teile der Bestellung, passiert eben den Besten und dass seid ihr auf jeden. Ich holte einen Burger und Diverse bezahlte Artikel ab. Zum Glück war das Restaurant an einem Samstagabend verhältnisse leer, für diese Qualität hätte ich sonst eine Warteschlangen bis zum nächsten BurgerKing erwartet.

Danach fing der Genuß an. Ich öffnete den Karton meines BBQ Burgers und da war es....... bitte Bild mit der Bulette anschauen. Der Burger hatte ein engelsgleiches Antlitz. Ein Teil des Fleisches schien ein bisschen abgepröckelt zu sein. Naja Optik ist ja nicht wichtig, denn das Auge isst man ja bekanntlich auch mit. Nach ein paar Bissen kam der himmlische Geschmack zur Geltung, eindeutig wie ein guter Wein und Käse ausgiebig gereift. Man schaue sich das Bild vom Käse an. Der Käse war noch fest und wurde liebevoll nachträglich auf da Fleisch platziert. Er hatte eine anmutige Farbe, ich habe es nicht über das Herz gebracht, diese pure Liebe zu verspeisen. Ich legte ihn auf das Tablett. In der Zeit hörte ich zwei junge Damen sich über ihr Mahl nicht zu erfreuen. Ich kann überhaupt nicht verstehen, wieso diese Menschen nicht zufrieden sein konnten. Einer meiner Kumpel hatte einen richtig leckeren double Cheeseburger. Der Gott dieses Kunstwerkes, war wohl von Sorge, man könne sich daran verschlucken, darum hatte er den Burger ein bisschen kompakter gedrückt. Er gab beim ersten Bissen dies mit einem Geräusch aus deiner Kehle kund. Er legte den Burger danach auf das Tablett zurück. Wir sind dabei ein Museum für diese Kunst zu finden. Der Frapeè, wurde getuned, das Sirup war nur am Boden, deshalb war der gesamte Geschmack des Gesö... Drinks, besonders toll. Auch die Angestellten wirkten höchst motiviert, die Freude, für die beste Niederlassung zu arbeiten, war in ihrem Gesicht geschrieben. Vielleicht täusche ich mich auch, die Lebensmittelvergift.... eh ich meine das gute wohlige Gefühl, beeinträchtigt meine Wahrnehmung. Mein Arzt werde ich definitiv informieren, das mein Magen ausgepumt werden muss, damit ich es alles nochmal essen kann. Optisch wird es sich dann nicht abheben.

Ich werde dies in Zukunft bei einem Besuch bei Mecces mir in Erinnerung rufen.

German Mcdonalds is way less tasty then Dutch McDonald's. The meat is more dry and the Germans put way too much sauce on their burgers. Really, if you are German try the Dutch McDonald's at Doetinchem. Overall restaurant was clean and service was okay. We came for the "Mit Mecces um die Welt" menu which was interesting but it would have tasted better if it was made with Dutch meat and less sauce. Also the buns are more dry in Germany.

Oh and McDonald's, if you read this, make the McDonald's app international, it sucks that I cannot use...
