This is what we'd call an Ausflugsgaststätte, perched high overlooking the Oderbruch. It serves traditional German cuisine in an traditional ambience. The food is excellent and the service quick yet friendly. The staff are impressive to watch when setting tables in almost military perfection and speed. Apart from the delicious food and the great views, the restaurant is selling some local produce like jams, chutneys and spirits for guests to take home. Booking ahead is advisable and a must on holidays and weekends. There's no access for wheelchairs and the dirt track to the restaurant ensures only those determined enough will show up. Went for a spontaneous lunch with my daughter. We were greeted by an extremely friendly and efficient waiter who took the best care of us. The location is pretty epic (the gravel road up to the restaurant would need some patching after the winter, don’t drive there if you have a sports car ;). Drinks all good but the food sadly not up to par with the rest of the experience, both our dishes were rather dry and lacking in flavor. Still recommend a visit for the view...

Dass dieses Restaurant eine fantastische Lage mit einem wundervollen Ausblick hat, dürfte eigentlich bekannt sein bzw. sieht man es auf der Website im Video. Das entspricht auch voll der Realität. Wir waren sehr begeistert vom Ambiente: es ist eine große Gaststätte, aber trotzdem sehr gemütlich und sehr lauschig eingerichtet. Der Service lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig, das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und man merkt, dass sie Spaß an der Arbeit haben. Das Essen ist gut bürgerlich und schmeckt hervorragend, auch die Auswahl ist sehr gut. Einziger Wermutstropfen sind die Öffnungszeiten: es ist nur bis 20 Uhr geöffnet. Allerdings wird man auch nicht rausgeschmissen, wenn man noch zehn Minuten länger dort sitzt Und man hat nicht das Gefühl, dass das Personal schon trampelt, weil es nach Hause möchte. Es wurde schon des Öfteren versucht, die Öffnungszeiten zu erweitern, aber in der Gegend wird das wohl sehr schlecht angenommen und es sind einfach zu wenig Gäste nach 20 Uhr, daher hat das Restaurant sich für diese Variante entschieden. Muss man so akzeptieren. Trotzdem sehr schön und wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, wahrscheinlich mal zu einem Tapas-Abend im Herbst, da ist dann auch...
