Café Henriette — Restaurant in Forbach

The two women behind the service counter were just plain weird, rude and awkward. They were constantly staring at us and we did not feel welcome there at all. Being foreigners in Germany, me and my wife thought they were probably racist towards us, but looking at the other comments in the review, I can only laugh at those pitiful silly women. The man, however, was very friendly. We ordered Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte and the Rum Chocolate cake, which were OK, honestly nothing special. Because of the behavior of those waitresses, I would never want to even pass through...

It’s a lovely Traditional Bakery + Coffee House, self service and have a handful of tables at the terrace opposite the street (seasonally, winter only indoors).

Their traditional black Forest Cake (it gets sold out twice we went there 😭) is the best we ever had and we always come back whenever we are in the black forest area.

Ich war kürzlich in diesem Café und leider konnte es meine Erwartungen nicht erfüllen. Die Preise sind wirklich hoch: über 4 Euro für ein Stück Kuchen und fast 5 Euro für Torte oder einen Kaffee – das ist definitiv am oberen Ende. Es lohnt sich eher ab 17:30 Uhr das Cafe aufzusuchen, da man ab dieser Uhrzeit einen guten Rabatt bekommt.

Die Qualität der Torten war zwar gut, und die Stücke sind recht groß, aber für meinen Geschmack nicht die besten. Ein weiterer Minuspunkt ist die fehlende Auswahl an Milchalternativen – heutzutage sollte das eigentlich Standard sein. Zudem ist Kartenzahlung nicht möglich, was nicht mehr zeitgemäß wirkt.

Die Inhaberinnen hinterlassen ebenfalls keinen positiven Eindruck. Begrüßt wird man kaum, ein freundliches Lächeln sucht man vergeblich, und auf Fragen oder Bitten bekommt man oft patzige Antworten. Das schafft keine angenehme Atmosphäre.

Auch das Ambiente ist nicht besonders einladend: sehr altmodisch und irgendwie lieblos. Alles in allem leider kein Ort, den ich...
