Kistenpfennig — Restaurant in Freising

This bakery in the Commercial region has been somewhere we have gone to for the reasons of getting bread to be eaten at home, yet on our recent visit we realised it could be a good place to eat lunch pre departure back home.

When we set foot in the bakery, we weren't greeted, as per German customs of rudeness and prioritizing personal relationships. What I meant in a literal sense is that the first lady we encountered at what looked to be the main point to order ignored us in favour of her friend or acquaintance who walked in after her. Mind you we aren't foreign to Germany, the German language or how to order food (obviously) so we basically got pushed out of the way in favour of a new group who just arrived. This lady, with her self importance, ignored our plea to order food and when we were ushered away due to blocking her buddies payment portal (awkward German man in his 40s picking up that we spoke English and using his sorry excuse for English to tell my father, who's in a wheelchair, to move away from something he wasn't blocking in the slightest).

Yet I will say this princess was lucky that there were two women very ready to help us and answer any questions, who both showed actual compassion and hospitality, readying a table for us and getting our order checked out.

Coming to food, the Laugenzopf and Marzipan pastry were very nice, yet our whole mood has been overshadowed by this cloud of inexcusable disrespect. I highly advise any tourists, blow ins or locals looking for a place to eat to avoid this place as the person who looked to be a manager couldn't manage her work ethic and respect for...

Das Essen ist gut, das Personal jedoch sehr unfreundlich. Als wir vor Ort waren ist eine Mitarbeiterin mit einem Rucolablatt durch den Laden und wollte es einer Kollegin zum Essen geben. Sorry aber bei vollem Laden geht's so etwas nicht. Hier vergeht einem der Appetit. Den Kaffee haben wir kalt erhalten, da diese bereits 5 min vor den Baguettes fertig wurden (wurden warm gemacht). Auf Anfrage hieß es nur wir hätten uns die Kaffees ja schon einmal nehmen können. Wir gehen doch nicht einfach hinter die Ladentheke und hohen dort das Zeug weg, wir wussten ja nicht einmal das es unsere waren. Auch finde ich es eine Frechheit, dass 60 Cent (pro Teil!!!!) mehr verlangt wird wenn man vor Ort isst, und das bei Selbstbedienung. Ihr habt hier 2...

Habe heute mittags Semmeln und Brezeln geholt, preislich okay. Kistenpfennig war eig immer gut seid 5 Jahre kunde. ( 10 köpfige Familie). Aber seid 4 Wochen bemerkt das die Semmeln und Brezen nicht mehr frisch sid. Heute nun wieder deutlich bemerkbar gemacht. Brezen schmecken alt, Semmeln sind wie Gummi kaum kaubar. Als würde die von gestern sein. Leider müssen wir alles wegwerfen was wir gekauft haben, alles ungenießbar. Schade, wir als 10 köpfige Familie werden nicht mehr bei Kistenpfennig Freising einkaufen. Werden dies auch jedem nicht empfehlen. Bitte achtet darauf dass die Ware...
