Schmausenkeller — Restaurant in Frensdorf

First with the food: they are big portions, tasty and a really fine example of barbarian food. Service is fast and really friendly even if they are under pressure with lots of people. The Ambiente well you can really leave the kids to their own and have a nice Beer 🍻 and enjoy the food undisturbed. The only problem, and totally only to do with some clients, is how come they start smoking willed you eat and in front or next to kids and have the most basic decency or more basic brain function to go somewhere else. I mean I don't wanna eat and have a side dish of smoke or get my kids poison from someone that just arrived or get kids to think that smoking is something normal!!!! It would be nice that at least the kids area and around was a smoke free zone for parents that do not want to cut the life of...

Schmausenkeller, halt, da war ich doch schon vor 15 Jahren mal. Aber was war da noch, naja, die Demenz hat auch schon Einzug gehalten, aber irgendetwas Negatives muss gewesen sein, sonst wäre, wie bei anderen Kellern auch, meine Besucherfrequenz nicht so niedrig. Am Vatertag nun hin mit Sohn und Schwiegertochter, nicht nur angelockt vom niedrigen Bierpreis von 2,50 €/Seidla. Nun ja, Bier ok., aber das Schäufele von meinem Sohn und meine Currywurst, absolut unterirdisch. Das Schäufele war tatsächlich ein breiter Streifen Fleisch mit Fettauflage und Schwarte, aber ohne Knochen. Es glich also eher einer dicken Scheibe Schweinebraten. Ebenso fehlte somit das butterzarte Fleisch auf der caudalen Seite des Scapulae. Das Fleisch, zäh und trocken und mit ordentlich warmed over Flavor, war fern von jeglicher Qualität. Davon abgesehen, dass dies einen Betrug, also eine Verbrauchertäuschung im Sinne des LmBG darstellt, ist dies aus meiner Sicht ethisch ein Verbrechen an diesem Nationalgericht. Schämt euch ! Auch die Currywurst, lebensmittelrechtlich wohl in Ordnung, aber qualitativ weich, fett und alt und somit ebenfalls unterste Schublade. Die Größe der Klöße der Roulade meiner Schwiegertochter entsprachen Golfbällen, geschmacklich war dieses Gericht aber in Ordnung. Sowohl am Nachbartisch, als auch im Gespräch mit Einheimischen abends in Bad Staffelstein, wurden uns unsere Erfahrungen so oder ähnlich bestätigt. Big beer garden nestled into the forest. Very tranquil. Awesome playground for kids. Great location for families with young kids: grab a table next to the playground and spend a lazy afternoon. Decent food selection (not so much if you don't eat pork though), coffee, cake, sweets - they've got it all. Table service would be nice, as the wait to order and then pick up your food may be quite a bit - but hey, it's a beer garden...
