Awesome awesome place that is hidden in plain sight! Cozy, family owned eatery, set in the alps

We came for the Kaiserschmarrm, a pancake like dish with sugar and a side of applesauce and cranberries - a delicious treat after a tough walk up.

The service was very friendly, down to earth, and helpful. Furthermore, the restaurant is very dog friendly. Also, there are other animals on the property, which kids may find interesting. Geese, chickens, and a pig.

The Garmish Brewery Dunkel beer was also incredible, if you're into ales.

You want to come here, you will not regret it!

Wonderful Alm up in the mountains near Garmisch. Fantastic family trip with a stop for a drink and/or food. Better beer selection than most mountain hits (few different beers from local breweries, as well as a selection of the usual Weissbeir, Helles, ect...There is a pond with fish and ducks, chickens and pigs. There is even a small playground for kids. Around the corner, beautiful hills for the kids to...

Ich gehe als Einheimischer in dieser Gegend öfters wandern und kehrte heute zum ersten Mal in der Kochelbergalm ein. Ein wunderschönes Kleinod mit angeschlossener, kleiner Landwirtschaft (Fischteich, Schweine, Hühner), auch eine Katze und ein Mops gehören wohl zum Haus und laufen draußen herum (beide aber tun den Gästen gar nichts, man muss also keine Angst haben).

Ich aß einen Kaiserschmarrn für 10 Euro und trank ein Spezi für 4,40 Euro (0,5l). Die Portion des Kaiserschmarrns ist sehr groß (mit Apfelmus und Preiselbeeren) und nach dem letzten Bissen, den ich gerade noch so schaffte, war ich wirklich satt. Kaiserschmarrn war ein Gedicht!

Die betreibende Familie ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Als Rast beim Wandern kann ich diese Alm nur...
